Another vid of the 500zx, bit of a compilation. Prob be the last one until I get to the dyno as it's still only locked to about 60% throttle and 7k rpm at the minute.Shame the video camera doesn't really capture the sound properly though, on the drive by, it sounds immense when you're actually there! Proper spine tingling!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3hLQtXRAqU

You've built a serious machine here! Looking forward to seeing what kind of times it can do!

Sounds mean man, gotta do the brakes with all that power tough. That's all I gotta do before I get mine back on the road, but it kept raining here the past few weekends. Wicked ride!

Will try and get a vid with the lid off the air box on the dyno, with the trumpets on there now the induction noise is unbelievable!Brakes are currently the 330mm R34GTR setup and are not too bad. Still fade a bit under hard use though, some AP's are in the pipeline.

Maybe instead of having a plenum, just leave the top off and trumpets exposed with individual filters, then make a nice bonet scoop for your intake

Had thought about that, or modifying the lid to take 2 big panel filters.2 issues then are noise (track day regulations) and can't get any tuned length induction setup in there

That's just an awesome project. Just don't ever add up all the receipts.

dude I am doing a similar project to yours. Or I will be shortly, If i run into some trouble can you help me out a little? Do you have any major hurdles that you want to mention before I get started so I can be ready when they present themselves?

Most of my hurdles were self-inflicted by going for dry-sump / ITB's etc.If you keep the engine more or less stock initially then the biggest issue is going to be the sump pan.I believe craigztoyz on here is doing kits or so I heard?

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

John, thank you, Yes we are making Kits, drop in n go, plug n play, or drop it off, a clutch kit of choice n about 3500 and get it turnkey. Whatever the customer wants. Doing my 6th VH45 swap right now. Was selling my First build, but decided I liked it as a backup driver/ toy / make a bad mood go away car.

how's yours going? Amyer in Neatherlands told me some great things on how yours was running a few months back.Craig

That's an amazing price, no wonder you've done a few

Mine's going OK but I've got some issues with cam timing at the minute: zer...-dynoNot had time to do much since but have been driving it a lot still when I get the chance. I'm thinking try and lock up the VTC for now and get the cams dialled in for top end then re-visit the VTC when I get a chance.Few people I've spoken to about the VH reckon it likes a lot of inlet advance - I'm currently timed in at 100deg max lift on both cams supposedly but I think the VTC is not advancing to this. Has been suggested to try advancing the inlet to about 98-99deg should work better.

Great job! I want your blue prints!

Could you drive it to Edinburgh without earplugs and still hear when you get there?
