So I finally killed my battery. I've been working on my stereo and interior since February and have drained the battery multiple times. It won't start without a jump regularly now so I'm figuring the cells are dead. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of going with a deep cycle marine battery with higher cranking amps but not sure how that will work with an engine that starts multiple times daily.

Thanks for the help!

Billy

Optima Yellow Tops or Interstate, I have used both under serious power grabbing conditions and they have not failed.

I believe you can get the Optima's at Costco/Sams Club for like 150 or 200

Or you can check your local speedshop

Optima yellowtop is a deep cycle battery best suited for car audio applications, i think that is the best bet for you.

also kinetik and stinger make nice car audio batteries. personally i just have a cheap *** "interstate" cause i couldnt afford the yellowtop when i was in need of a battery

Well I went to Costco and did got a yellowtop. Before I was using a generic kirkland(costco) battery and it never started like it does now. It just seems to respond much better when turning it over. The dude at costco said he switched over and swore that his subs sounded better, I'm sure there's some truth to that.

Again thanks guys for the great advice!

hmm that woulda been useful in my old car......'86 Cougar.......the motor mounts were going on it so the carbeurated v6 would shake uncontrollably and the result ended up dislodging my battery constantly. It got so bad it kept puncturing the battery until it leaked all over my garage.

I miss that thing. Every time id turn it on itd backfire a huge plume of blue fire....people thought i tinkered with it but nope...it was ghetto all on its own.

imagine my system in that.

r.i.p cougar!
