Greetings to all, and, yes, a long time since here! Out of the country doing "fun" things, following orders!

Anyway, returned to where the M30 and Q45 had been stored in my climate controlled garage, both on a trickle charger. M started immediately and was taken post haste to be serviced. Q would not start, even though Interestate Magna battery was less than a year old! Would not take a charge, and service guy said battery shot, and replaced it with new Interstate at no charge. Installed battery, and car started immediately and settled down to smooth idle. BUT.....I am getting no power to anything! ANYTHING! Seems as if a breaker switch has been thrown some where! Tried the "SEARCH" feature here, but no luck on my issue. My workshgop/service manual is somewhere, but I must do a search mission for it! Thought I would ask the Q gurus here before I tried anything else!

While M was being serviced, it caught the eye of another Infiniti type who asked the manager if it was for sale! He was told that I would be facing divorce and alimony if I sold HER car!

My Q (pearl over tan) is the one Dennis (aka Q45 tech) found to be "one of the best examples of an early Q" when I took it over to T-3 for guides, etc, back in 2000! It still is one fine auto!

In advance, thanks for your help!

(I'm going by a Y33 wiring diagram, but most of this should also apply to your G50) -

Since the engine starts and runs, it's still getting power to some circuits (engine computer, fuel pump, ignition switch, etc.) - Which means that the large 120 amp fuse in the positive battery cable is still OK. Next place to check would be the big 80, 40 & 30 amp fuses that branch out from that 120 amp fuse.

Did the new battery get installed with the battery cables reversed?

Hi John! Good to see you on here again...

When you say no power to anything - do you mean nothing works except the engine starts and runs? Will the car go into gear and drive? If you would, check everything electrical in the car and outside... brake lamps, wipers, windows, sunroof, HVAC, etc. and let us know if anything works. That will help narrow things down a bit.

Of course, check every fuse in the under hood box and fuse box under the car.

Good luck!

Thanks for the imputs guys! Probably no time til this weekend, but will follow your advice.

I do recall all exterior lights - other than brake - working, but no window, dash, shift lock release (?), or such working. Had to depress the shift release button to get lever into gear. Anyway, more than enough cars at hand so not a fall on sword matter!

Heah! Good to hear from you! If you are still in real estate in Columbia area, my condolences! Last trip with Q was up to Lake Murray in May where brother has deep water home, and he was showing me all the homes there for sale! Yikes! He is in poultry business in Newberry County. Things dead down here on the coast, too, as they are out in the Rockies!

Anyway, thanks for answering and the TCU you sold me all those years ago still works wonderfully! Only other mod she has is the Jeff Williams' strut brace and that is the way I want to keep her, as OEM as possible.

Glad to hear that TCU is still working.

I'm still in the Real Estate "business" (in quotes because the word inplies that money is made) - luckily the wife has a good job that seems to be stable so far.

When you get to it this weekend, please check all of your fuses in both fuse boxes, and then take a complete inventory of everything that works and doesn't work and post it. I'll study the FSM diagrams and see what I can tell there... Hopefully athe rodent problem you mentioned a year or two ago hasn't spread to the electrical system!

Hi Heath!

Plz do not expend any time until I have done a complete search and destroy on the vehicle! And, it was stored in coastal SC, NOT in New Mexico where the rodents are really bad, it costing me serious money to fix all of the eaten wires on the Suburban! The damn rats seem to thrive on D-Con and, folks out there have learned to prop hood open so the engine compartment does not offer any weather protection! Therefore, I do not believe I have a ratty issue with the Q!

Hi Rob!

Thanks for the imput! And, I have not been called "Sir" since I retired from USAF a WHOLE lot of years ago; but, thanks anyway!

Frankly, my mechanic friend (who sold me the new Interstate) told me that Kirkland batteries had recently received rave reviews! Kirkland, for Goodness' Sake! I believe it all depends on who is maKing the brand at the moment, Johnson Controls once making most of them!

Again, thanks for your thoughts!
