My friend and I installed new axles front passenger and driver side. Front passenger side has a "wobbly" feeling 1/2-3/4 way into acceleration usually 5-20mph, no noise at all. Only wobbles during acceleration, straight or turning, can vibrate while wobbling, barely feel the wobble at high speeds. These are new duralast gold cv axles from Autozone. We did notice that the bearing when placed in the bearing bracket, slipped in very easy so we're thinking that could be a possible issue allowing the shaft wobble. Everything is tight, and torqued what was more than required and we lifted the car and ran the wheels to make sure they weren't the cause. I'm going to exchange them to be certian with lifetime warranty. Just wanted to know if anyone else knows of the cause or advice.

I just watched this video:

They didn't seem to have a bearing to re-use, so I'm not sure what you have.

Maybe you don't have your axle nut on tight? I mean, it could have seemed tight, then after some driving and settling, it is now loose? Other than that, comparing the new and old parts seems like an important step. That bearing bit might need a closer look.

You can look to the FSM if you haven't already.

Hi centralcoaster33 and Thank you - Sorry forgot to mention its a 2008 Nissan Altima sedan w CVT to clarify. I'm still doing research purchased 2 new front axles again. This weekend we'll take front passenger side out and if we notice something was loose then thats the answer, if not new one will give us a better answer if same problem or no problem. Expecting it to be bad new axle

It happens, it's a bummer when it does though with the extra hassle of doing things twice. At least it's faster the second time! Let us know if you got a defective part and maybe share the name of the manufacturer. Or if you find something else out of whack. We can always use real world experience and tips. Thanks!

Installed a new set for the front, still have the same wobble. Now after doing more research again it is most likely that I need to raise the front since my car is lowered on coilovers - it's creating a stressful angle on the cv. I didn't think of this before because the oem axle did not present this issue but that a boot ripped and lots of lovely grease everywhere. Hence the new axle and since its an aftermarket it obviously is not a perfect fit as original

Wow, how low is your car?

I'm not sure I understand the fitment issue. Tolerances are tolerances. I'd expect proper fitment and function. Were you able to return the wobbly one for a refund?
