yeah that was the prob with mine too. I dont know if this is how everybody did theirs but i did mine using paint program that came with my computer. i copied and pasted the picture i got offline then i just played around with it in the paint program and i eventually found how to make it smaller....so i think your gonna have to figure out that one for yourself since i dont exactly know what programs you have on your pc.sorry that wasnt much help but i aint really a computer nut, im sure one of the other members would hop on in a bit to help

yeah I tried using PhotoImpressions when creating an avatar. All you have to do is bring your pic up in the program and crop and resize it to 64x64 pixels. I tried it and at first thought omg what did i just do cause the pic looks so small but it'll turn out alright. Make sure you don't have awhole lot of details and contrasting colors seem to look better in the avatars, I tried using some solarizing effect and you coudlnt' even tell what the picture was. So just play around for alil while.Post it as your avatar in the place that Downshift said, then go into a thread that you've already posted in and it should be there and you'll be able to tell if it looks bad or not. If it doesn't look so hot try try again. And if you get frustrated and it still doesn't look how you want it you might be able to try the Multimedia forums some of the frequents there are bound to know.

Used photoshop to resize to 64x64 and imageready to save the animation file. but actually the original already fitted.

if you dont have photoshop or imageready then i will gladly help u out. just send me the image in an E-mail and ill replay with it resized.

Well i used photoshop and another program called imageready. Photoshop can only do still images (but has awsome photo editing capabilibties) while imageready can do animation (but poor editing tools).

They are both actually connected to each other by a button in each program. Photoshop has a button that says 'jump to imageready' in its toobar. same for imageready. but when you are in imageready, make sure click the 'save optimized as' button in order to save the gif as a motion file (rather then a still).

here is original slow Citroen drivers = ): : Improved fast Subaru Drivers = D

Only problem is i gotta fix the speed a little on them cuz the driver shifts a little too fast. im lazy tho... :D

Now in order to make a gif from scratch, you can use both programs (plus some know-how on how to use them).

First you start in photoshop, you must make 1 layer per every image you have. So if you have a sequence then its layer 1, layer 2, layer 3, so on... as if you were drawing images and fliping the paper. After you have finished with the images you 'jump to imageready', then you can adjust the time that it takes to jump from each image. After, u 'save optimized as' and you are done.

Thanks I'll have to play around for acouple days and see what i can do. Is that imageready a freeware, shareware, or do you have to buy it up front? I don't knw if anyone watches tech tv but they had free program thats basically an exact ripoff of photoshop. Not sure how big the program . I'm still on 56k so hopefully not to bad if i find the link i'll post it.
