I was reading a Mustang magazine this weekend while I was the bookstore and saw a nice install for a late model Mustang. It got me thinking that I wouldn't mind a similar upgrade to my Versa. I'm going to contact the company making the Mustang shifter and ask some questions about it. It may be transferrable to the Versa with some ingenuity.

Here is the article that caught my eye.

That's pretty cool!

I still would like to convert my CVT Versa into a 6 speed. I wonder how much it would cost.

Codelicious I think the 5-speed is better, it's what I have in mine and it seems to have a better response than the 6-speed.

At this point I'd take a 4 speed. haha

This is my first Automatic car, I got it cause it was the only one they had left at the lot. It's not too bad since it doesn't shift.. but I like having a manual transmission.

That's a pretty awesome shifter.

I was in a Mazda3 the other day, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever that it had a auto, but it could be put in manual mode. It has the clutch and the gear shifter on the side of the auto shifter. lol

I did that to my last car (92 Toyota Paseo). It had a big clunky rubber shift knob with a button on the side and an O/D button. I relocated to the O/D button to a rocket switch underneath the e-brake and bought a shift boot to put over the shifter.

The problem was that the shift stick was an oval and the shift knob I bought had a circle opening. It was one of those knobs where you just press the whole thing down to switch gears. So I had to take a hacksaw and cut the oval in half about 1/2" down. Then I installed the knob and it was done.
