ok I am currently installing a sub and amp combo into my 1997 grand am,,,, yea its not an 240sx but hey it was $60...i work at a gm dealership full time and i got the car for $60. I just installed the upper and lower intake gaskets (3.1 v6) new fuel pump, fuel filter, serp belt, oil pump seal, power steering seal, power steering pulley. I got all brand new OEM parts for free..mechanics hooked me up big time!... it will have to do for now...

anyways so yea i have a Single Sony XSL123P5B Sub,,its an 06 xplod modeland i have an old school Kenwood KAC-929 2 channel amp...my question is should i run the sub hooked up to the amp with the positive of one sub going to positive on channel one and the negative going to negative on channel 2,,and should the amp then be running in mono or stereo??

also i have an extra battery that i will be installing in my trunk for the system,,,since a battery can deliver more power than a cap..and it was free...

also if anyone can get me some specs for a ported box for my sub that would be awesome...i lost the instructions that came with the sub

Many amps are bridged that way, but I would confirm it. Most amps are labelled at the terminals as to how to bridge them. If you have trouble interpreting what it means, post a pic and I'm sure someone can help.

I can't fathom a need for a second battery in a daily driver with very little power for the sub(s). If you do put it in the extra power cabling and required vent in the trunk add some extra expense to the install.

Lets see here:

Xplod Sub1300w peak power380w rms4 ohms nominal impedence

---------------

Kenwood amp1000w max power150 x2 or 460 x1 @ 4 ohms230 x2 @ 2 ohms

hook it up at 4 ohms, with optima redtops as both batteries. turn the gain down to about 365-380 watts, run at mono.

use a sealed box for the sub.
