Wish me luck... I'll probably need it;)

Did you get the stock speaker size of 4x6 for the front(s14s have 6.5s in the rear IIRC). If not are you doing some custom fabrication and what is it?

mmmm, nice. it shouldn't be too hard, unless you're replacing all the wires... :)

speakers are all 6.5's (stock size)

I ordered from Crutchfield, so it came with all the wiring harness stuff and adapters I should need. Hopefully I won't have to grab anything else, but you never know. Me and a friend are going to attempt to throw it in Saturday afternoon. Neither of us has done this before, so it should be interesting, but I am confident we can finish it off.

no

I don't need any subs, they take up way too much space and money and I don't plan on listening to any cRAP...

Not to point out that you're ignorant about music... but since I just did, I might as well bring it up that more than just "cRAP" has bass hidden in it. A subwoofer adds a whole new dimension to all music, from Mozart to Metallica.

Sheese, so offended from an innocent statement. If you want to think I am ignorant about music go ahead, I probably know more about it it than you ever will. I've studied music for years and know that bass can add another element to music and it can be very beneficial, but not for my needs or budget. I can't justify spending another $500 for an amp and woofer for more bass which I will not utilize. My speakers are quality units which will produce the bass level I desire. If I was 'bumping some tunes' or whatever then perhaps it would be necessary to invest in a subwoofer, but for casual listening it is not practical.

Thanks for your insightful input and quick immature response.

To the rest of you, thanks for your advice and support. Former, I am setting aside all of the weekend to work on this. I don't want to make any stupid mistakes and I have 2 installation guides along with the FSM to assist me :D

sorry but im with phax on this one... i asked you if you needed any subs and you replied as you don't plan on listening to any crap... if you were that involved with music which you imply that you in fact are... why do you insist upon subwoofers all play crap... as we all know your referring to rap... yet as phax mentioned they are not soley for rap and its subsidaries. What I really don't understand is your retort about "quick immature response" and the fact you know much more about music...

Look, I was simply making a joke about sterotypical cRAP (haha, funny, get it?). Rap and techno are the primary forms of music that utilize extra bass which is acquired from subwoofers. Most other music uses significantly less bass that can be heard sufficiently through quality speakers. I completely agree that a subwoofer would make any sound system more complete, BUT, as I mentioned it is impractical for someone with my intent and needs both musically and financially. The reason for my stern response is that Phax took a shot at me. He said I am "ignorant about music" which I am not. He seems to jump to quite a conclusion here based solely off the fact that I choose not to buy a subwoofer. Think what you may, subwoofers are not useful for me in my car stereo. In my home theater setup, however, that is a completely different matter. Fair enough?
