i have a 1993 240 sx the ka24de motor has a piston knock

will the ka24de motor from a 1990 240 sx be the same and make my life a little easier with the swap?

well in 1989 and 1990, the 240sx came with the single cam ka24e.

you want a motor from a 1991+ 240sx, because its the same dual cam ka24de that you currently have.

Are you certain it is actually piston knock? I ask, because I'm not there to hear the actual sound. Maybe it could be the elusive slapping of the timing chain guides, which is an easy fix.

good question...but when the engine starts and is cool its alot louder.....when it warms up its a little less loud...the knock happens at about 3k rpm in every gear...ill check the timing chain though thanx
