Hi, i just bought a new project datsun 510 with a CA18DET in it.

I dont know much about this engine or car since I'm a Rx-7 guy.

it has a S13 wiring harness, cluster and steering column

runs E-manage

my problem is that there is no turbo or manifold.

it ran a stock CA manifold with T28.

Does anyone know were i could find these parts, they seem to be hard to find.

I've seen SSAC makes a manifold but im not sure it would fit in this tight engien bay.

now for pics.

WOW! I just popped like, 200 boners. I want a 510 so bad I can taste it but i dont have the time or $$ for another car. I am not sure who specifically, but if you look at our sponsors section of our site there are def some ppl that stock parts for the CA18. I saw some when i was rolling around looking for SR stuff. Ca18det_Gabby is also rlly cool and you can ask her if she has any secret spots that she hits up for parts. other than that: FROOGLE! you may not find the best prices but you can at least get an idea of whats out there.

for teh BOV I recommend the HKS Super Sequential blow off valve, if you use teh search button someone on the forums had a limited set of special edition blacked out SSQ BOVs for like ten to fifteen bucks off the normal price, totally hot pajamas. Samco makes great intercooling piping and it comes in a variety of colors. wow end plug spree. The Z32 maf is going to be a little bit harder, I order parts for my shop and a new one is still going to run you $300 or so, and some evil junkyards that know what they can do will often ask for almost that much. Check the classified s for that part and maybe even your downpipe and turbo. what turbo were you thinking of using?

lolrsk8s, its not always about the sound (besides at the right pressure it should sound like a whip not a whistleXP) its about the responsiveness of the dual valve system in the SSQ. because its a two way valve it can vent under neg and pos vaccum situations assuring you the correct amount of boost in yer pipes. but if themadscientist says the Greddy is good, its good. I love HKS parts (except for this @$$bag plastic manual boost controller they make) but they are very very pricey. I will be using GReddy parts whenever HKS would put in ramen noodles for the next 1k years.

It was tuned running a T28, I'm waiting to hear back from some local shops on prices for a GT28RS. This car is very very light and did spin the tires on the highway with the T28.

some friends are checking local yards for Z32 MAF's, maybe i can get one on the cheap maybe not.

my rx7 has a HKS ssqv, sounds decent at 16psi.

I would look for an T28 from an S15 or S14.... ball baring or not... on a stock engine is way more than enough. realiticly I would run a SR T25 and be done with it for the time being as it will cut down on your lag time.

screw the Z32 maf for now, go find an N60 MAF(maximas are good sources for them) and are mad cheap and just as effective.(with the e-Man can you run a map sensor instead? much easier and then one thing off the list)

IC piping is ebay easy..... no sense in going any farther. same goes for the intake.

for the DP back, I would see if a SR DP will fit properly(does on an S13) otherwise just have someone fab you one from the elbow back.

as for the BOV.... w/e you run make sure it is set for full recir(unless tuned otherwise) and I personally like the turbo smart twin horn

Ps you could always run a T3/T4 if you wish and run the ebay TM mani.... looks like plenty of clearence.

just curious.... never seen anyone run the exhaust side port to the back of the intake mani, is there a reason you did this? I would consider running a oil catch too as one of the other upgrades.... just a suggestion.

Thats what i'm going to do i think. I don't know if the engine is stock or not. The pressure plate feels about the same as my Rx-7 420FT/LB rated one. and way stiffer than my friends SPEC stage 2 KA24 setup. who knows if anything else on this engine is changed. But someone did spend some money, coilovers, Delrin bushings, custom tie rod ends, custom anti-roll bars, cusco camber plates...

I was trying to keep the car close to its old setup to limit the need to retune. I think the E-manage needs a MAF. I'm going to swap to a Haltech plug and play soonish.

Quote »for the DP back, I would see if a SR DP will fit properly(does on an S13) otherwise just have someone fab you one from the elbow back.[/quote] I think it will work. The exhaust looks to be the same 3 bolt flange

thanks for the reply.

there is no PM function. it functions the same as Z32 N62 maf but does not meter quiet as much air. should be a very simple retune if any is needed.

ask Tim he will know for sure. Im still running my stock ECU.
