Hey everyone,

Just got a great deal on a 2000 Q45T with 104K only paid $5000 and I was wondering about a few things. This was a one owner car and dealer maintained but any advice on what to watch out for as far as maintenance. Also heard the trannys go on these often is that true. Next looking to put together a nice ride with some mods maybe VIP style any suggestion on where to look for parts?

Thanks

Searching might help you. Along with typing things like "VIP Q45", "Q45 parts", "Q45 rims", in google and seeing if there are any shops or vendors that you can buy parts from. Do some searching around and see what kind of mods people are adding to these cars and see what you like. Cant build it for you. Search, search, search... name of the game.

Rehabilitating deferred maintenance is much more beneficial to the lcars longevity and performance than window dressing.

All fluids and filters should be changed immediately unless you have documentation that the correct specified componennts were used in the last year. Read Skibane's (and other's) excellent posts about adding an auxilliary ATF cooler.

One has to realize OEM specified maintenance is just minimally sufficient to get the car beyond OEM initial warranty coverage so major compnents break on your dime. An owner desiring longer term performance must do more. Q45tech has carefully documented these steps in his posts, so read them alothough he is using the G50 as an example because the overarching concepts apply to any mechanical device.

At 100K, VC gaskets, plugs, struts and shocks and associated rubber parts, and brake pads would all be wise to inspect and start a kitty account for future maintenance. About $3K after fluids and such should be sufficient after preliminary rehabilitation os achieved.

Welcome to NICO!
