I think our dreams are going to come true. The grille that scars each of altima coupes might be replaced by the grille of our desires and opinions. I just talked to someone from customcargrills (a company focused on providing materials for individuals to make their own grilles) and asked if they would be willing to make a new grille for the altima coupe. They are sending some of the material samples to me and you can see all the different grille types on their website (link on bottom). I asked if they were willing to make a grille custom made for the members of this forum and they obliged. They only need the pattern for the grille shape. I know that some of you guys live in Michigan. They are HQed there (Grand Rapids, MI 49509) and if one of you guys is willing to do the R&D for them I'm sure we could negotiate a free grille for you. I know chillaxtodamax lives in Michigan so can you or anyone else who lives n ear Grand Rapids, MI shoot me an email? Everyone please look at the website and look at which type of grille you would like (many different types of mesh and billet) and think of designs or shoot out ideas of which you would like best. Then after we get a general idea we can have a poll to see which one the majority of people like. Afterwards, we can, if the best admins in the world permit, have a group buy or we could show our interest and ask them to maybe give us group buy prices. I know stillen is making a new grille for us as well but this seems like an offer too good to be true! - A custom grille designed how we want it. Also, the man who I asked said that he may be able to, after getting the design pattern, take individual orders for grilles with whatever type of mesh and color we want. But that's up in the air for now. This may be what we have all been waiting for!

I think a black billet or gun metal color WITHOUT the nissan emblem would be a great seller...Also has to be a full replacement not some stick on cover!

I'd prefer the same thing as you Hussain, but the Nissan sign should be smaller than it is now. I think it's way too big on the front.

I’d be willing to look at the car locally. I don't think I can make a full replacement grill for the car, it would be an overlay for the existing grill. I’m not sure what I can do on the car just yet, but I’d be willing to take a look.

What do you guys think of an overlay?

Hussain,

Haven't you learned anything by now .... we don't need a reason to flame you .....

But, in this case you are right on the money IMHO. There's de-badging and then there's DE-BADGING. I frankly like the fact that people can't believe it's a Nissan.

Black mesh w/ or w/o the logo (not sure which would look best as of yet!)

Good lookin' out Kevin!

Well, Matt from Customcargrills.com emailed me back. He needs to go to the stealership to take a look at one of the Altima Coupe/Sedans. Since I'm 2 hours away, it'd be a waste for me to make a trip there just for him to look at the car. I've told him that the majority of us want the black mesh with Nissan emblem. He'll let me know once he's taken a look at the car.

It will be an overlay though...not a replacement grill.

It would be cool if they could come up with some sketches so we could get somewhat of a better idea.

Here's my opinion on the grille.

The car itself is no civic or cheap car. There are a lot of cheap flimsy, and not to forget gaudy, grilles out there right now. If this company wants to make a grille I'd say do it right. Give us want most of us want. No chrome, no overlays, and definitely not something half *** put together and won't fit when install comes. A fixture might be a bit much but would be indeal. This is what I had in mind….

This

Not this

well from what Matt's saying, it will be an overlay...so I guess you should look elsewhere then.

I'd definately go with a nice mesh grille w/o the logo. I agree it looks plain, but I like that way.

Definately some black/gun metal. I'm going to order their 'big sample' I think. I'm looking to do some custom work similar to what dangeris did with the stillen fascia if no grilles come out that fit my style.

The biggest problem to overcome is the whole grill section. I know that the chrome pieces are gaudy looking and very unattractive however, it is molded in 1 piece and that is the hurdle that needs to be overcome. Since I bought the Stillen fascia, I have been looking at ways on how to mod it. If I can come up with something I'd like to produce a grille that is both sporty yet tastefully done. I want nice NOT rice! I will need to find someone with an injection mold to do it...and we all know that costs a lot. In the mean while, I'm going to do a lot of and see what I come up with!
