How is everyone doing???
I'm picking up my new 2010 Altima Coupe 2.5S crimson black in about 6 hours (pretty excited :woot: )
I'm trading in my Infiniti i30 he will be missed, we've been through a lot together..

Any who, after thorough research through these forums + google and what not the 2.5s 2010 coupe doesn't have-
- Body Kits ready yet?
or
- Cat-back (looking for borla) ?

I'm not the most car-savy of people as you can see, I'm trying to learn so bare with me, but how sexy can I really get with a 2.5s as far as performance?

I'd like turbo for example, a little extra kick(I know I should have just went with the 3.5 for the extra HP but money is an issue right now, but is this possible on a 2.5s? Most turbo's I have seen are all on the 3.5)

Also as far as rims go what would most of you recommend between 18, 19s, or 20s?

Sorry if this seems really elementary to you guys but I've been a long time rider of the nyc subway system for a majority of my life and money has came into play recently over the past 3 years.. so cars are like a whole different world to me :gotme , I apologize but thanks in advance!

I will post pics later of the car when I pick it up!

-Ray

Welcome to NICO!

Congrats on the new car. I am starting to get jelous of all these new 2010's! They did some really cool tweeks for that year and the crimson black is pure sexyness!

From what I hear there isnt a whole ton of body stuff for the 2010s yet, but from what I understand the only real difference on the body is the front end, ie. hood, bumper, headlights, and maybe front fenders. So maybe (dont quote me on it) rear bumper and side rockers would fit fine. I also think the engine is the same.

So for 2.5 there are some things you can do to spice it up. I just recently got in the coupe family myself. money is limited for me right now too, but a few things I have done that have made a noticable difference is an intake kit, and a grounding kit. I went with the K&N intake and there is a dude on these forums that makes custom grounding kits. If you click the sticky post about the custom fabricated parts you'll find it. Those two things are fairly cheap as far as addons go, and were easy to do. Maybe those would be a good way to get your "feet wet" in car moding. There are a zillion different suspension mods, exhaust systems, headers etc. If the engines are indeed the same in the 2010's I dont see why they wouldnt work, but id double check any fitment before ordering anything.

There have been a few guys here that have turbo'd there 2.5s, so it is possible. But if you have a CVT transmission, I have heard there may be issues with those and turbos.

Wheels, there are many different perspectives on this, but for me personally, for a 2.5 i think 18s are probably the best bet. Much bigger than that and you might actually hurt performance throwing around that much steel and rubber.

Take a look around these forums there is a lot of info on mods, and with a growing number of 2010's coming in, I am sure there will be more and more info on mods for them, as wells as new kits and stuff.

Again welcome!

Welcome, there's a thread in here on the mods you can get for your car. Do you have CVT or 6MT? I'd recommend not putting a turbo on a 2.5 CVT unless the 2010 CVT is better than previous years, unsure on that. As for wheels, I think 18's are best but 19 is fine too, although I don't like 20's.

Thanks @ Infinite and Ranga!! I appreciate it!
I am getting the CVT (that is the automatic transmission I presume)
Hopefully they will sort out the issues they have with the turbo soon enough.
But thanks a lot for your guys input on the wheels and kits!

thanks sentrastace! :)

lil unfortunate update...
I was supposed to get my car this afternoon but the salesman who sold it to me leaves everyday at 5 which doesn't work with my work schedule(he needs to be there for final paperwork because it's his sale  ), so the only way I can get it is on the weekend or if my boss wants to be kind one of these days which is doubtful.. but pics will come!
thanks again everyone

Thanks 4 the welcome !

Yeah you're absolutely right about that, but I'm not going to push it at this point.
I'll just enjoy the final days with my Infiniti... a proper goodbye lol.

Welcome! The CVT transmission and turbo = disaster. No way around it unless you can find someone to re engineer the transmission to hold the sudden torque of boost.

if I were to spend $ on a turbo, I'd expect at least 300hp minimum for my investment to be worth it. Unfortunately, for the few who've tried turboing their ac's, the result is disappointing. Other than that, congrats on ur new purchase and have fun modding!
