hey everyone,

Just traded in my 04 Ford F150 FX4 for my new 2010 nissan altima coupe 3.5SR CVT, black on black......just wanted to drop a line a say hey to everyone....

also i have a question, my car came with the bose sound system and the non-nav cd/mp3 headunit.....myself ive been installing stereos for years, but never had a vehicle with factory bluetooth, and one with the call accept and hang up button on the steering wheel....... i want to eventually put in a kenwood excelon touchscreen as well as some subs, moreless just for sound imagining, not too much for being loud.......been in the SPL scene and now just sound good sound quality....

amyways, is there anyway to use the stock answer / hang up buttons on the steering wheel with an aftermarket dvd/nav HU with bluetooth????........also, i have not taken the dash apart yet, but do the factory bose w/o nav HU's come with pre outs for additional componants? ie/ amps and subwoofers?

Any other suggestions about what kind of mods would help me out and make the car look sick, feel free to let me know your suggestions and ideas!!!

Thanks1

Cory

Welcome!

As for your questions, I know there are Pac units for the volume control and skip feature, not sure about Bluetooth (I didnt have the Bose system). I also HIGHLY doubt there are additional pre-outs. I think everything is line level to the Bose amp. Wait for a few other responses from members with more experience with the Bose unit.

As for sick LOOKING mods...drop on springs or coilovers, wheels, body kits, tint. There are tons of aesthetic mods for our cars. Start at Stillen, check out Extreme Dimensions and AIT too.

Welcome....

I have the bose unit as well and honestly know nothing about it. But i did have a bose unit in my last car (Mazda 6) and I had the entire system swapped out. Let me tell you....the shop that did it absolutely hated me by the time i left. They said it was hands down the worst uninstall they have ever had to deal with. I would definitely have someone who is familiar with bose systems give you a hand but then again, this could be completely different from the one in my Mazda....

Anyways, good luck and enjoy the car.

Welcome! As for the q's like Beasy said you can get the pac unit to keep your volume buttons working. Most new units come with bluetooth but i dont know if youll be able to use the wheel buttons. Also im pretty sure you can hook a sub up to the bose if you wanted to, i think a few others have done that. More members will probably answer you can also try searching around. Good Luck!
