new air intake

i want to get a new cone filter like a k&n filter, but it looks like if i take off the old one and just get a new cone filter it looks like it'd need a adapter, because it looks like it wouldn't stay on. does anyone else just have a new cone filter and not the whole intake, if so what kind is it?

you will need an adaptor if you dont already have one.
