Hey fellow Verters,

Is there a preferred Cold air Intake mod that everyone seems to like? I know, it's a loaded question and there are many posts on the subject, but what I'm looking for is a "cheap" mod that will give me a little bump and be the first step in tweaking the engine.

From what I've read, start here, then the exhaust, plug wires, etc. I'm not going to swap the engine anytime soon but would rather squeeze what I can get out of what I've got.

So if you've bought one off of eBay and were happy with it post away. When I do it I'll take detailed step by step pics and post them.

Suggestions, flames, advice to use the SEARCH button are all welcome...

As far as air intakes go I'm not sure just how important the brand is. The reason I say that is because I bought one recently locally out of the classifieds. I was told by the seller that it was a fairly generic brand. Well it was brand new for only $30 so I bought it anyway. What a difference. I can actually feel the increase in horses and now when I punch the gas? Whoa, it sounds and feels like a completely different engine. I'd highly recommend an air filter mod as being one of the best bang-for-the-buck mods you can do. Go for it, -Glyph

as far as my ka went an intak aint the important go out and buy an APEXI Air Filter just the filter then go get a 3inch adapter plate for your MAF. then rip out all your stock air box's theres like 3 haha. use AEPXI tho there proven to be the best air filters out there. and If you really want a Intake that bad then buy an APEXI air intake system thats my 2 cents

Speaking of air filers, I wonder if anyone remebers this. One magazine did test on several different brand air filters on one car and they had dyno results. Anyone remember which one got the most gain? I think it was either Apexi or HKS. I forgot....
