Today, my 93 Q has a new problem with the AC blower. Basically I can not turn the blower off. Everything seems to work on both the A/C and heat but I have no control over the fan speed. It's always on High. The fan speed display will change, but the fan stays on high. If I turn the unit off, the blower stays on high and blows at the floor.

I'm hoping tht it's just a relay. Any ideas where to start?

Thanks for any help.

Check the fan motor as well... the darlingtion resistor typically fails due to decreased air movement (causing overheating) - so maybe a slow fan motor or leaves/pinestraw/dead rodents in the fan/evaporator area.

Here's a good article from Q45.org showing you how to do all of what we've told you above. If you're not mechanical and new to the Q this is an easy DIY with just a couple of basic hand tools required. It's really important to clean the evaporator and fan blades or you'll be starting the "burn out the amp" process all over again. You'll be surprised at the amount of dirt and debris on these two pieces. A new fan control amplifier is up to about $65 from the Infiniti stealership, used about $25. I have one if you decide to go that route.
