Hey everyone i just bought a 2wd 5 speed datsun 720 pickup my friend who i bought it from did a tune up but it likes to stutter and not turn off when you try to shut it off so i have to put it in first and essentially kill it. now my friend said he thinks its a problem with the carb/choke i just wanted to know if anyone has seen this and if so if a new carb kit will fix the problem.
also im trying to figure out what size my gas tank is but i havent been able to find the information anywhere. a little help>?
i will be uploading pics of my truck soon. thanks for help!

Not 100% sure on the gas tank, but the problem sounds to be the cutoff solenoid for the carb. Had the same problem before in mine.

yup.... rip off that old carb you got there and throw on a weber 32/36... also depending on your emissions laws take off the cat and maybe even get some headers.

The only other things that will really wake it up is get the head redone, port and polish the intake and exhaust ports and get them port matched as well.

Pretty much all you can do to make it breath better... maybe a diff cam? but all depends on where you want your power band.... anything more begins to become MAJOR modifications and will cost a pretty penny... might as well swap for a bigger motor at that point.

Polish actually takes away power as it screws with the air flow but porting is still good.

Tryin to get stuff done but keep running into more problems. recently muffler fell apart because of the idiot before me but it gives it a nice sound XP any ideas on how to lift the front end?
