Toyota has unveiled a Toyota Yaris Hybrid R with a 1.6l turbo charged 4 cylinder under the hood. 2 electric motors at the rear, 1 electric motor in the middle to act as a generator during breaking and a AWD like system during acceleration.

I ..... do..... want?

Can you imagine the fun of driving this thing?
Nissan you must answer with a Versa or Cube set up the same.

I'd LOVE to drive one but without being seen in it. :)

Wow, if you had told me 10 years ago Nissan and Toyota would be swapping business strategies concerning innovative sporty cars, I would have laughed in your face.... maybe even pointed and laughed :tisk: come on Nissan, where are you at?!?!?!?

I was skeptical because I assumed it would be stupid looking.

I like it, it looks a bit Japan import tuner scene but it has the performance to back up the look. I would drive and I would love it.... for the money though I would probably buy something like what I drive now. You have to assume its going to be 40-50k if it ever shows up in a dealership. You can buy a lot of luxury performance metal for 50k.

I'll stick with cars I can fit in, thanks. Also cars I can fit in usually don't need three electric motors to reach 400 horses under 5-second-limited "boost" mode.

In other words:
I am unimpressed.

I'm with MOD on this one. It's a 300hp econobox (yay!), except they had to go and double its price by adding a whole lot of electronic add-ons that "...can provide a 40-horse boost for 10 seconds in Road mode, or the full 120 hp for five seconds in Track mode."

If it was a more traditional hybrid where the electric motors did a lot of the work to improve fuel economy, but was also equipped with a 300hp engine, that would be exciting!
