Hey name is Shawn,

I just purchased my first non german made car. 2005 350z 6 speed with 14,804 miles on it!!! I traded in my beloved audi allroad. and before that i had a bmw 325i, im sure going to miss them:(
but now for this car, its really sweet and very clean nothing seems to be wrong with it. i've had it sideways a few times already and it felt great. Its a touring so it says on the sale wright up and stuff but how do you really tell? also whats a good site to get parts off of? and is there any washington/pdx owners that due meets?

First off...Welcome to NICO! :badger

I keep meaning to add this to the FAQ or make it a sticky, but this should help you figure out your Z's trim type in the meantime...

Here's a quick rundown using a few easy to find features...

1. Does it have a TCS/VDC button? (No = Base)
2. Does it have a TCS button (Yes = Enthusiast)
3. Does it have a VDC button (Yes = Go to 4)
4. Does it have Brembo brakes (No = Go to 5, Yes = Go to 6)
5. Does it have leather interior/Bose? (No = Performance, Yes = Touring)
6. Is it a 2003-2004 model? (No = Go to 7, Yes = Track)
7. Is it a 2005 model? (No = Go to 9, Yes=Go to 8)
8. Does it have leather interior/Bose? (No=Track, Yes = 35th Anniversary)
9. Does it have leather interior/Bose? (No=Track, Yes = Grand Touring)

Absolutely. :yesnod You can run plus or regular in it if you can't find premium but I'd stay away from regular as much as you can and when you do run it be sure to drive easy.

If you just stumble on to some deal for the OEM Brembos go ahead and take it, but people usually ask too much for them. I have Brembos (I've got a 35th Anny) but I'll be the first to tell you that there are better aftermarket big brake kits for the if you're upgrading from the stock calipers...first company I'd look at would probably be StopTech.

Yeah I really like those rims.

This is the way I always look at the "premium gas" question. Usually it is only 10 cents or so difference in 89 and 93 octane. I usually put 10 to 13 gallons in my car a week. OK, now you are only talking $1.00 to $1.30 difference. You pay for a performance vehicle, so you might as well get all the performance out of it you can. Buy one less soda a week.

That is just my 2 cents worth.

Actually, every Z trim except the base level came with a viscous lsd from the factory.
