I just recently bought a 2006 Z33 coupe and I haven't been able to determine which model it is, or even which engine it has. I've tried googling it but I've found a lot of contradictions in the answers I found. So I'm still unsure. Can anyone help definitively determine what my Z is? It's much appreciated!

Hit https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ and plug in your VIN. They use the same dbase as Nissan DPC and it will give you the basic trim/engine info the car was built with.

Welcome aboard! You have a VQ35DE rev-up motor, 300hp/264tq.

Shouldn't be any contradictions unless you're on sites full of knuckleheads. Stick around, we like accuracy. ;)

Thanks for the quick response and info! How can you be so sure though? Because of the year? And an example of the contradictions I saw is someone said base model is the only one without cruise control on the wheel and also doesn't have the bose sound system. But mine has cloth seats no cruise control on the wheel but does have the stock bose system... lol see how I got confused?

Well, AZhitman is the head honcho around these parts. Rumor has it that he bleeds crankcase oil. He's rarely wrong about his facts.

Here's the details for the '06 350Z coupe straight from Nissan.

If memory serves he only gets the RevUp if he has the 6 speed manual.
They auto trannys still came with the regular 287 hp VQ35de.

Another way to check is the Redline on the tach.
if its 6600 rpm you have the VQ35de
If i says 7000 rpm (or thereabouts) you have the VQ35de w/ Revup.
(But not the VQ35HR which came a year later with a redline of 7500 and dual intakes)

Yeah its the 6 speed manual and recline is 6000 with a total of 8000 on the tach. So I guess that settles what engine. Now whats the best way to determine the model (base, enthusiast, touring, etc...)? Is there a is there some kind of list that tells the differences between each one? I believe it's probably base or enthusiast. Again thanks for the help guys

Just in case you don't have a hard copy, here's the 2006 Nissan 350Z Owners Manual in pdf. I find the pdf files easier to use then thumbing through the book.

BTW, here at NICO we have Factory Service Manuals (FSM) available free to members. Here's the link to the FSM for your car.
