hello nicoclub!

i just wanted to make my first post to introduce myself. i just got a 1996 240sx se from a friend. currently he is overseas asking me to hold on to the car. he told me to either sell the car or keep it; basically up to me.

1996 black 240sx se120,000 milescloth interiorruns ok --> looking to learn a lot here to make it run *excellent*

problems:passenger door and fender being banged up from a minor accident.looks as if windshield was replaced - sealant is not spread evenly.brakes squeal.etc.

unfortunately, my canon s40 is broken. i would have definitely posted pictures. once i find a camera, i'll post some to share.

You should get the brakes checked out.

But welcome, and keep the car!

yeah, the pads might be near their limit. maybe the wear sensor or something.

the car definitely needs some tlc however. my friend bought it 2nd hand (could have been more owners) and after checking out more of the car today, it seems that the harness and other misc. wires had been soldered back together.

great thing is that there are no signs of rust. :crosses fingers:

just did my rear brake pads tonight. the squealing was soo bad that i was too embarrased to drive around and break peoples necks as i passed them on the street.

rear brake pad install

one by one, i hope to knock off each problem one by one.

Hey! Welcome to the boards, there are a lot of good write-ups here. Also, start looking on ebay for a factory service manual. ..they're invaluable!
