Hi and welcome to Nico. I'm glad to hear that you are now a 240sx owner but might I suggest that you Edit your original post and upload photos to post to your thread you just created. You will find that you will gain respect in doing so. If you choose not to then all I can say is good luck not getting disrespected.

No problem,

I'll post some pics when I get a chance. Just picked up the car yesterday and I've been too busy driving it! Thanks.

Hi,

This is overdue...After my original post my heart sank when my mechanic wouldn't safety the car because it had holes in the floor. Never having done this before, I ripped out the interior and got to bare metal to find 2 quarter sized holes and one fist sized hole. I made the repairs and decided to toss the old carpet and rebuild the interior with new underpadding and new carpet (non-oem). At the same time I performed weight reduction where possible...in the end I think it turned out OK for a newb. Please check out my photos.

Note that I'm going to turf the auto transmission for a manual. Definitely going to turbo, replaced spark plug wires, cap, rotor, and reset engine timing - will post some engine bay shots later. Please read the descriptions, thanks for your advice.

before you go for power you should go for suspension, handling and braking. If you have bad rust problems fix that quick before it gets worse! look EVERYWERE for rust and good luckI too am missing my stereo lol

Your driver seat is in really good shape, must have been owned by little fellas or not driven much. Sucks about the rust though sounds like your on the right track fixing it. I hate driving auto so much i know you must be anxious to get that s*** out of there. Good luck with the resto, get the car is good working, safe order before you start modifying it to make life easier on yourself. Do you have some plans as far as modifying the car? Maybe some suspension upgrades? Wheels/tires?Is it your daily driver or track car or both?

Thanks, the brakes and suspension are in really good condition, the car sits lower than my buddy's RX8 with Teins, really stiff. I'm going to check out solutions by Stop-Tech however, should suffice for a vehicle on low boost.

Thanks,The car has since been certified safe and it's on the road in my name finally. Now I'm dealing with emissions as it idles not so nice and blows hydrocarbons a tad high. I originally intended this vehicle to be a daily driver / turbo-drifter but it's more akin to a track car now. I used lightweight aluminum to make the repairs and ripped out anything that wasn't related to the operation of the car. Really a lot of heavy hardware out of the back seat, etc. I'm definitely going to turbo and go for a transmission swap at the same time. Had a turbo car in the past at 20psi, I NEED BOOST. The car will also get a new paint job and a decent set of rims. I think I'm going to stick with the original idea as a drifter and prepare for the eventual catastrophic frame damage. With the rust I found, I don't think it's worth it to make it into a pure track car.
