hey everyone, new to this board. i picked up an 89 240sx on wednesday from a guy in the bay area. it was free cause it has so much damage to it. but i am unsure as to what i will do with her. the frame is bent all the way to 6 inches behind the shock towers so i'll have to get it aligned by my friends dad that has all the frame puller stuff in his barn/garage. it has 117K miles on it and this is the only wreck it's been in. need to replace bumper/lights/radiator support/fenders and hood if i can get it straight again. the interior is perfect and my dog decided to chew and demolish all the light wiring on the front of the car the first day i had it home.

I am unsure as to what i want to do with her right now.

sell her and my 95 integra and get a 240 with no frame damage and have some money for college.

buy a shell and drop in my good motor/trans and then sell my teg and get a lot of upgrades

but at this point it looks like i'll probably remove everything from the front end and bring it to my friends house and have his dad pull it straight again...then have a drift car for the track with a few of my friends goin in on it also.

pics up as soon as we-todd-did-racing comes back up cause it seems to be down right now :(

Welcome & Congratulations!

My situation is similar to yours although not quite as bad. I got mine free a month or so ago because it needed a timing chain and the front end was bent up. No major structural stuff, just all the suplimental sheetmetal pieces are tweaked. I pulled it out the best I could and it looks better than it did but still looks out of sorts. The headlights go up and down at least.

Good luck with her

it's kinda messed up but i already have the whole front end off and the radiator support cut off. just waiting till thursday to tow it to my friends house to get the frame straight enough for the road. also, i'm getting no power to the fuses in the interior area....so i am pretty sure i need a wiring harness from the positive cable. last owner let the old battery leak for years!

i'm working on that. but for now it's just stock front end, primer and body work...then as soon as the teg is done, get 4K to spend with but probably only goin to get some good rims, biggest i can fit for drifting, real coilovers, and a 300zx brake swap for all 4 wheels. soon to be poor college student so i need to save some for when i move out in 2.5 months
