NEW 240 Owner .... what to do ?

Hello,

I just purchased a 1995 240 SX in great condition.

I was wondering what are the manditory things I need to do and beneficial upgrades ?

One thing I am definatly ordering is a B&M shifter and Nismo shifter knob. Other then that what should I do in terms of maintainence and small Tricks of the trade ?

if it hasnt been previously done, look at your timing chain guides and listen for any noises near the chain when its running...from what i hear the bottom guide can give in, causing destruction of your valves and cams, etc. Maybe have a nissan tech check it if your not sure what to do

drive it like you stole it. change oil...drive it some more...change oil again...push it to the limit this time...change oil again....drive some more. post less.

id go with a good intake/header/exhaust combo. injen makes good intakes, hotshot makes good header, and there are so many exhausts out there. personnaly i am partial to apexi but its all opinions. id upgrade your wheels and tires to something nicer looking and something that will handle better than stock (low profile sticky tires). that should be a good starting point to get your car lookin nice and performing well. once youve done the basics you can start to see what you want for your car(ie. power, handling, looks), and then go with that area.

1. Replace everything that needs to be replaced (engine parts, tires, etc)

I agree with fixing anything that needs to be fixed. Definitely tires. Then decide what it is that you want to do with the car, and mod it accordingly.
