new 240 owner needing help with minor problems

I just recently bought a 1993 240sx SE, few things wrong that i could use some help with. The digital speedometer only works for about the first 5 minutes that i crank the car up, after i go about a mile or two it fades out. and my brake lights seem to have a mind of their own, i wake up in the middle of the night and have to go out and press my brake pedal to shut them off. also the heat sheilds rattle loudly, i want to remove them but not sure wheter or not it will make the car over heat. if anyone has any advice or answers please let me know, here or e-mail [email protected].
