Few things happened today.

The garage door broke at my dads shop so we had to work on it outside, so we decided to pull most of the engine apart and stuff, and see if we can figure out what was bent or damaged.

Well the core support is moved and so something has been bent. But monday I'm going to call my dads frame guy and see how much it'll cost to get it bent back to normal.

Does anyone know how much that normally costs?

We got rid of a lot of stuff and sometime next week I'll take more apart and within the next week or two actually pull the thing out..

A few things are messed up but all in all I still think this is a better deal then that rusted out piggy. Still no rust other then the bottom of that core support you see in the pictures and it kinda started too where the exhaust is. But its not a hole at all.

Well the frames not bent from what we see, nothings buckled and the fenders and everything line up perfectly. The core might not even be bent, or anything. Look at the pictures above and see how the front end sits, its weird. -_-

Okay, well we found out yesterday we don't need to go to the frame shop, as the core support isn't bent at all. It was actually the bumper support, the thing was bent in on the driver side and all the bolts were broken off it and it was kinda hanging there by a thread..

But I pulled it off and both fenders and Once the engine gets pulled it'll be nice to get a good ol paint job in it. Not a lot of rust, a little but I got rid of most yesterday and i'll do some more today. :P

All in all the pictures are just showing the front end as it is now with nothing on it, and I'm pretty happy I don't have to put out so much money.

Not in order or anything

I got an estimate today from a frame shop today, he came to my car..which was nice.

He gave me an estimate of 400 dollars, he said there's a few bends and such but nothing to bad.

Got all my intercooler stuff in today, 3" piping and got an enjuku cold pipe with a Blitz DD Blowoff valve, does anyone know if that is any good? And I was wondering the intercooler was used and is dirty and scuffed up, how would I clean it up a little to make it shine again? lol

tanks.

Next thing to do is get it to the frame shop, and pull the ka out. My dads back was screwed up saterday so we decided to wait till next saterday to go threw with it, then the frame shop were off. Then hopefully the body shop for a paint job.

either a bright red, or skyline blue. :D

My hat is off to you. Building a track 240sx is no easy task. I know, I did one myself (with help) and it took just shy of a year and a half. My thoughts are, do you have to retain the MAF? The reason I ask is I dropped my on my SR20DET and ran a Djetro Apexi EMS. This helped huge as I did not have to mess with the F*&^kin MAF. Did you research to see if there was an option on the KA to get rid of the MAF? Also, just my 2 cents. I went with the GT2876 .86 turbo for the track (topend) and it is a monster turbo for the track, especially matched with 280 cams. But then again I am not familiar with the KA.

Anyways, good luck on the build

I've seen people run with no maf, but with my hp goals and such I don't want to go with that. I'm actually going to run a z32 maf when i get a chance, and If I can find an exhaust cam i'm going to run 248/248 cams in my ka. and building this car is hard, especially when i want everything as nice as possible.

Okay, today i finished building the ka24det.

Its not COMPLETE yet, but its deff more then what it was.

I torqued the head bolts to 75ft lbs.. Figured a little bit more then stock because of the boost it'll be having.

But all in all it went back together pretty easy, and now I just gotta figure out where to get decent but cheap studs for my turbo/manifold. Anyone got the four from an sr for sale?

I'm uploading pictures so stay tuned..

Thanks! I did it myself. :] 2 coats of primer 2 coats paint and then sanded the letters down. :P

And I don't plan on keeping anything with the ac, or heat, or anything. I'm taking all that out of the car for less weight.

Sweet man, ya im thinking about painting my v c white or red. And if I go turbo I think im going to try to keep my ac, It gets hot in the summer in idaho. I like the bottom mount turbos instead of top mount it looks way clean when they are bottom mount! So what are your plans for your ecu?

They do look cleaner. :P

And even if I kept it I don't use it, I love having the windows down and such.

And I plan on getting a JWT for my 240. One of the best out there. :D
