Hello everyone. I'm new to this website and just bought a 240 yesterday for $2000. Its a 1995 SE. But the guy who had it before me primered it. It'll get repainted soon. It had a giant aftermarket tach and a "carbon fiber" steering wheel. And also no back seat. Luckily my friend had a parts car. Stock steering wheel is now in (horn and airbag don't work...) The tach is gone, and I now have cloth seats in the back, which doesnt look too good with my leather. The arm rest is wobbely and so is the shifter, the stereo trim is cracked and the trunk and glove box do not open. So I have a project ahead of me.

The motor runs strong but the exhaust is full of leaks and the right rear brakes are bad. And the clutch is going out. But... Here is a list of things i ordered last night that will hopefully be a good start.

looks like you got a good start, i dont think there would be a purpose in replacing the gaskets unless they were leaking or unless your doing a little more of a build but you know they couldnt hurt to install or have around

what kind of short shifter?

and stage 3 by who? that thing could possibly not be fun to dd with haha

good luck on the build and welcome

it looks like you got your priorities straight for the most part, i like to see responsible 240sx owners

I'm planning on a turbo and it was leaking some oil so i figured I might as well replace everything just to make sure.

The short throw is ebay, and the clutch is XTD my friend had one on his rb26dett and he loved it. We are taking the motor out to do all this stuff in a couple weeks so the clutch install shouldn't be toooo bad.

And thanks for the kind welcomes everyone!

let me know how the ebay one is, i have a megan v2 and it is sorta...stiff, weird shift feeling, the clutch install will be easy as pie if the engine is out already, trying to muscle that transmission under the car is lame...

one again, good choice in doing the necessary maintenance first before anything else

what kind and size catback?

your set up currently, after the engine is running great, will be a good decent set up, its roughly what i have and i have loads of fun

Welcome and nice car.

Just some words of wisdom im turbo and i have a felpro head gasket works just fine.

With the cometic i wouldnt get that unless you deck the head and the block, or else its going to leak. Garanteed.

As said, the fel-pro has withstood 400+ hp KA's. The Cometic requires special head and block treatment in order for it to seal correctly.

Dangit I already ordered the cometic...Guess I'll send it back and buy the fel-pro.

The cat back is a 3" with the giant can tip lol, I donno the brand, my friend "turbo joe" helped out getting that.

I need help choosing some good brakes and I need that bezel thing that goes around the radio, and also a new arm rest.

Junk yard?

I'll get more pics up tomorrow.

Wet sanded the headlights today, took out all the seats, console, and dash parts to vacuum out all the cigarette ashes...

Alsooooo. Sunday the wheels come off, and the tires come off the wheels. Sand blasting the wheels and painting them gunmetal.

Not sure if your car has a truck popper in the cab or not. I know the s13s do. Anyway you could fold down the seats and with a small screw driver gently pry the latch open.. thats what I did once cuz my popper got loose on the cable and I didn't have the key for the trunk only the doors oddly enough.

I got it open I crawled into the trunk with a screw driver and took the latch and lock off while a friend pulled up on the trunk lid.

After reassembly everything works!
