New 2016 Rogue: combo meter trip odometer

Just finished a long road trip and Trip A and Trip B in the speedometer seemed right on. The trip odometer and elapsed time in the combination meter seemed, well, random. Is this perhaps something similar to the maintenance indicator resets that some have reported? Or is there something else I should know, like it clears itself overnight or after sitting for a while?
