Hi, all, I've been lurking the past few weeks, reading through pages of old threads during my downtime at work. I'm glad I found this forum; the one I had been looking through when I was researching the sedan had a pretty small coupe area.

I traded my beloved G37 for an Altima coupe a few months ago. It's only a 2.5, and I had originally pegged a sedan to save money for a few years, but after test driving the sedan and haggling trade in, just...no. When I was plotting my escape from the dealership, I cruised thru the Maximas then the Alti coupe row, and that was it. I've always liked the Altima coupe, but dragged my feet at the price. When I'd' found a low mileage G37 for less money than MSRP on the v6 AC coupes a few years ago, that was a no brainer for me :yesnod But after a few years I couldn't justify the cost of ownership for no more driving than I do. So into an Alti coupe I go, albeit the 2.5. I'm ashamed to admit, as soon as I opened the door to the plainest one, a little red coupe with just a convenience package, I was done, hardball dropped and forgotten. I hate it when that happens :)

I miss my G, but the Alti is really growing on me - cockpit layout and basic feel is more like the Gs than the sedan was, although the weight distribution and FWD feel threw me for a little while. I'm absolutely SHOCKED that I don't hate the CVT - I figured I would, but no shift shock or gear hunting like my old Monte Carlo used to do is NICE. Now that I've broken the 1k mark on mileage, I'm starting to play in manual mode, too, and it's just fun to toss around without worrying about slamming into a pot hole or the car just plain breaking loose on a gravel road and getting away from me.

Anyway, there we go, and loads of thanks for this forum and the posts I've already read!

Welcome dude. Manual mode is fun as hell. I don't know why not a lot of people use it.

Yeah I use manual mode all the time. My normal driving is a mix of manual and auto. I "downshift" to slow down and to get my rpms up around corners ready for the exits!

It's too bad the coupe has been discontinued, and to add salt to injury no V6 line up in the '13 model, but I love the '10+ front restyle and the new colors as compared to the '08-09 which I had ('09 V6). I drove mine in D or Manual mode mixed as well, it was too much fun especially with an aftermarket exhaust combined with the VQ engine.
