Well this morning my wife and I went to the local Nissan dealer to have a look at some cars and ended up trading in our 2008 Rogue for a loaded 2011 Rogue in black. They sure are nice with the built in navigation, bluetooth and the auto climate control and I've always liked the leather interior. I was surprised to see that they no longer offer the paddle shifters though, I only used them occasionally for fun but I'm sure I'll get over it. Now they have a button to turn off the overdrive. I guess the paddles weren't all that popular. Anyways we'll be getting it on Monday and other from the fact I'm still in a state of shock I'm looking forward to it

We were planning on getting a new Rogue sometime next year because my wife is retiring. This way we'll have a chunk of it paid when that happens. The salesman didn't have to work very hard, after we saw the features that the new Rogue had it sold itself. We actually went to have a look at the Juke but it's not in yet and we felt that it might be a tad small for us. I've had turbo cars before and while they're really neat and fas,t I think in the long run they'll add to the cost of repairs. When I had the turbo Volvos, I drove them fast because I like the acceleration when the turbo cuts in. I believe the new cars don't have the turbo lag anymore but I never felt the 08 Rogue was slow. We haven't seen the Rogue Krom package yet so I don't know what we're missing but we had to keep cost in mind. I don't think are any of them in Winnipeg yet.

Anyways, we're looking forward to Monday afternoon

Thanks

Wow!! Congratulations! Can you tell us how you did for the cost of the new car and the old trade in? Also, please post pics!

We got just over 18k for the 08 and since we're Canadian the price of the new was 36k, so you never feel like you got enough for your old car and the new cars is too expensive. Up here the dealers don't haggle anymore like they did in the old days. They did include a stone deflector, rear bumper protector and a front end mask when available so I try not to think of the financial part and just enjoy the ride. We sure like Nissan and really like the Rogue and didn't consider anything else.
I'll post some pics later as it's raining right now.

I was quoted less than 15k for mine, but it was from a VW dealer, so you can definitively call them stealers.
18k for a no hassle trade in is a good deal, and at the end, it is like you sold it at a little bit more than 20k since you save part of the taxes on the new one.
Seem to be a good deal at the end, congrats.

Here is a quick picture of the instrument panel of the new Rogue. I'll be taking more pictures on the weekend if the weather is good

So as I can see 2011 Rogue is up for sale in Canada and been advertised on nissan.ca but there's no word on nissanusa.com and looks like us '11 Rogues on delay.

It's my understanding the the Canadian Rogues are built in Japan, while the US are built in Tennessee and Mexico, I discovered something cool with the instrument panel last night. It seems you can change some settings. I'll post a picture tonight

No, that's incorrect. All Rogue's are built at Nissan's plant in Kyushu, Japan.

I'm impressed with the extra 1mpg highway that the 2011 gained without making any changes to the powertrain - it must be attributed to physical changes that reduced drag, most notably the plastic shroud on the underside of the vehicle...
