Well after a lot of reading on this forum and doing my research i pulled the trigger on a new 2011 Nissan Rogue SV FWD with Premium package up here in Canada. It came done to a new 2011 Hyundai Tuscon FWD or the 2011 Rogue FWD and as i already own a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5s and love the car and gas mileage i think i made the right decision on sticking with Nissan. So far have around 1300km (800miles) on the car and have been loving every minute :). One question i do have for all the Canadian Rogues, since i have a 2011 and they have gone with the analog display there is a green light that looks like headlights that is constantly on just under the tachometer. Do the 2008-2010 Rogues have this as-well and why? Can i turn this off? Is it a DRL indicator? In the manual it says its a small light indicator light and illuminates when the switch is tuned to the on position, but mine is on all the time even when i turn the lights off. Also as i was driving the car at night i noticed that the sunroof switch to open and close it was not illuminated? All my previous cars that had a sunroof the switch was illuminated. Thanks guys for any input on this and look forward to contributing to this forum group. :wavey:

I have the 2010. My light only comes on when I have the headlights on, however, I do not have DRL's. Maybe your light is on all the time because you always have some sort of headlight running?

Now that you mention it, my sunroof doesn't have an illuminated switch either... I thought something was missing!

yeah, I think in Canada all cars are required to have DRLs. If that is the case, this would explain the light. Mine only comes on when i have the parking light or headlights on. And Ive never had a car with an illuminated switch...and all my cars had Sunroofs.....this one is no exception.

I have an '08 Canadian spec Rogue with DRL's. Mine has the green 'parking lamp' indicator which only comes on when the headlamps are turned on. However, the '11 model got automatic headlamps (they turn on when it gets dark outside) and perhaps the function of the indicator changed as well. Regardless, it cannot be turned off.

As for the sunroof switch illumination, there isn't any.

the 2011 model's (Canadian) don't have automatic headlights (my 08 Altima does and i love it :)) hopefully someone with a 2011 can let me know, or i can just visit a dealer and check out myself.

I have an 09 Rogue SL with daytime running lights(DRLs) and the green light only turns on when i turn the headlights on. In other words when i first start it up in the morning there is no green light....if its normal you could try covering it up with some electrical tape :)

It appears you are correct. There is nothing listed on Nissan Canada's websites about auto headlamps in the Rogue.

I never did find time to do a detailed 2010 vs. 2011 analysis so I am not familiar with all the differences, especially compared to US models.

Hi there! Long-time lurker, first time poster.

I just recently traded up from my 2009 S AWD with 155,000km on it (Company car, lots of driving). I picked up a 2011 S AWD this morning and noticed the same thing. My green "headlight" indicator is always on. The only discernable indication that I am using DRL's is that the backlighting is brighter. Not really fond of this omission, although I do appreciate the fact that there is now a light (however dim) for the cargo area on the liftgate.

I am located in Ottawa, Canada so this is most definitely a Canadian car. Haven't really had the chance to fiddle too much, but so far I like the new ride.
