Battery issues have been reported.
I have had 3 episodes of the car not starting due to a dead battery. The second time they kept the car for a week and thought the battery drain from from a problem with the door lock. However, the battery (a new one) was dead again this week after just sitting overnight.
...

My battery has been replaced once already. Since then i've had to jump start the car 10 times. If the car sits for a few days it will not start or barely start. Just seems like the battery is under powered. Dealer checked out and says everything is fine..they don't know.
...

They replaced the battery again, controller assy (bcm-284b1-1ma0c), and reprogrammed remote control to transmit at a shorter distance. They think my remote is pinging the car since it is close to the garage (Kitchen). Time will tell if it is resolved. One more chance and then I will have to call Infiniti HQ. Some additional info for anyone else having this problem from service writer:
They found a bulletin # ITB11-029 - updated BCM and replaced battery per ITB - Bat Code BAT PAX 32R 7F3 3HT (whatever all this means :frown: )
ITB11-029
2011 INFINITI M; NO START AND / OR BATTERY LOW VOLTAGE DUE TO INTELLIGENT KEY AND WELCOME LIGHTING
An Applied Vehicle has a “battery low voltage” or “no start condition”
AND
The customer reports all of the following:
• Vehicle is parked
• Vehicle is locked
• One of the Intelligent Keys (I-Key) is outside of the vehicle but within 3 meters (approximately 9.8 feet)

Have a 2011 m37 and Bluetooth is horrible. Better for music streaming than it is for voice calls but the music streaming has issues too. My car shows the latest update but I'm taking it in. I am so frustrated with it. Transmission shifts rough and delay in acceleration at times when popping out to pass someone but the new transmission update is supposed to fix that. I gotta get mine in for that as well. I do wish it was a little quieter from outside and road noise but it's very acceptable. When you rip a CD to the HDD it has to be a music Cd and not a disc with a bunch of MP3s on it. When I stream music via Bluetooth it will not always display the artist, song, album but after a little while it fixes itself. It does shut down the streaming audio often which is highly pissing me off. The music is still streaming on my phone but no sound from the stereo and bluetooth is connected. I have the premium sound, not the deluxe with 14 speakers but I don't believe there is any difference. There is no useful compass so I bought a mirror with temp and compass on it for $230 and it's working great. Homelink and all that. It's not a total plug and play solution but well worth it to me. I'm new to this state and haven't gotten my bearings when in new areas. Tthat is all I can think of. I've had my m for about 5 months now. I do love it and just like my first gen G I love getting in and driving every single time. I look forward to it even :). Very fun to drive car. I am getting around 19mpg mostly city driving and I only punch it a couple times each way to work and back which is 20 minutes driving time so your mileage may vary LOL.

IDK if I'd blame Bluetooth on the car. What phone are you using? As an Android guy I can tell you that the Bluetooth stack in pre-4.3 was messed up pretty bad and didn't fully support meta data on the nav screen. Android 4.3 added Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 support. I believe every other version of Android only had AVRCP 1.0. It's been fixed now and I get great connectivity with my Nexus 5 on 4.4.2 and now 4.4.3. Voice calls are fine and music streams from Google Play Music every time I get in the car.

The Advanced Audio Distribution Profile is a Bluetooth profile that allows for the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source (typically a phone or computer) to an A2DP receiver (a set of Bluetooth headphones or stereo system). Such devices typically also support the AVRCP profile as well in order to allow for track selection and such. A common misconception is that A2DP support is available on all Bluetooth 2.0 devices, which is not the case, and that A2DP is only available on Bluetooth 2.0 devices, which is also not true. A2DP support can exist in older versions of Bluetooth, it just was not commonly supported.

I apologize if you already posted about it but what did you drive before the M37? In NO WAY am I trying to hate or minimize your issues/problems with your car...I agree that the M is a great car that is an incredible amount of fun to drive. I care more about engine, reliability, and longevity than fringe benefits like HDD Musicbox or Cooled Seats. That being said:

Bluetooth - what about the bluetooth as it pertains to phone calls bothers you? Volume, call quality, etc... The music part i have no clue because I load flash drives with music for this purpose.

The HDD Musicbox - moot in my book...because if you have a cd of mp3's just put them on a USB drive and plug that into your center console.

Compass - Hit the "map" button there is a compass that is always set to NORTH...if you cant use/figure it out... you are f*** :)

Again. No hate here. We are all fairly new to these cars even if you bought one the day they came out. Any and all information is for the better.

People I talk to report that I sound like I'm in a tunnel or tin can and that it cuts out all the time. Very choppy as I'm talking. Some will not talk to me if I'm on bluetooth as it frustrates them that much. I have a new model Taurus SHO and a new model Ford Escape with an iPhone 5s and I never have these issues. Just yesterday I was taking a drive and the bluetooth audio stopped all together, then it would come on for 2 seconds, then stop, then one 1 second, then stop, then it stopped all together. It still showed it was playing and the song changed and the display changed to the new song but no audio at all. Had to turn off the stereo, turn off bluetooth on my phone, turn it all back on and then it worked for a little bit and did the same thing again. I shut the car off and turned it back on and it got it working more reliably but still had to deal with several cut outs of sound on a 30 minutes drive. Again, the Ford's do not do this and I was in a Chevy Cruze and synced my phone and did not have these issues either. Google maps will cut out, it says turn ...... in 2 miles or whatever. It totally cuts off the directional "left" part so it doesn't say turn left, it just cuts out EVERY single time. Can't use google maps for navigation in a pinch.

The above post about the Android phones is great info BTW but I am an iphone user myself.

I mentioned the HDD music box because I've seen some others complaining about it on the G forums and some here in the M forum. Slow ripping and that they can't put an MP3 disc in. I don't use the feature myself so it doesn't bother me a bit.

Yes I know about the compass. Notice I said useful because as you said it always points north. It's a little annoying. I'm totally new to this state and using a compass that's smaller than a dime is not going to work for me. I need to glance and see which direction I'm headed. I don't use the nav in the Infiniti. It's taken me the wrong way too many times. I don't have the latest update but the part of Arizona I'm in is constantly changing and the Garmin I bought keeps up and free map updates as well. After having it hard wired in I'm happy with it and no dangling cables. Why they do the delete is beyond me when you get nav. You can see on the G forums many complaints about it.

I appreciate the comment. It may clear up some questions people didn't want to ask. I was just trying to give him an idea of my experience and my lurking on the forums for 2 months before I bought the M. I had a first gen G and miss the activity that the G gets in the forums. Seems people are way more willing to twist a wrench or tear apart their dash than M users, and I would be included in that. I love my M, I want to do mods, I don't want to cheapen it when I do so I want it done right and with what I would consider good taste. I would like to put the sport package front bumper and side skirts and spoiler on mine but I am looking at doing opticoat on my car. Not the stuff on Amazon. The little tiny rocks and sand that fly up here in AZ sucks. So I need to make sure I get it properly painted and matched and then do the opticoat. Anyways, I'm rambling. Hope this helps some people.

I wonder if the bluetooth calling issue is IPhone v Andriod? I also am using Andriod (SGS3) and havent noticed anything, but maybe people arent telling me
No worrries boss...as M37 owners we need to hash out what are issues that need to be addressed and issues that just annoy us. I am truly annoyed by the locking features of the car. truly. My care has the aero kit you want...and it is SOOOO worth it. I dont think I would have bought mine if it didnt have the aero kit.

Well I just got my car back from the dealer. They replaced the mic and they updated the software. it's almost worse now I'm sad to say. I know they replaced the mic because the entire uh, part near the sunroof button, has changed and looks totally different. The one thing it doesn't do is cut out as I'm talking. li it wou do bef I had it upda ted ( like it would do before I had it updated ). It would stutter kinda like the typing I just tried to do and probably failed at :). Now I just sound like I'm under water. I was screaming and he just kept saying huh and then finally said I'm going to hang up. I can't hear a thing your saying. Good news, bluetooth audio connects nice and quick now and works even better. They fixed the rattle in my speakers. Thanks to the first guy whoever he is that complained about it. Infiniti sent a rep to the dealer, they looked into it and did the same to mine but I didn't have to wait on the Infiniti rep. It is better but with a lot of bass it'll rattle but at high volume. before it was at like 4 or 5 and rattling. It no longer does that. They replaced my battery under warranty because it was borderline and found a rear bushing leaking. They get the part Monday for me to take it in and have it fixed under warranty. I was very pleased with their efforts. I called the service guy from my car and he was highly disappointed and said Infiniti is aware of it and is trying to put out updates. Here is the deal though. I was talking to my bud, had the windows up and AC on 74 so it wasn't blowing loudly. We went under a bridge and he screamed. It was so loud it hurt his ears. I went under 3 bridges to see if it continued and sure enough, it did. The outside sound is killing the pickup on the mic I believe. Again, this is a new mic and bluetooth software update. I have changed some setting on my iPhone and will test it tonight. I went into diag mode on the car ( start car, turn off audio, hold settings button, turn volume knob 30 clicks either direction, enter diag mode ). Still no luck. I sat there and tried all I could with volume settings etc. I have my iPhone set to turn off noise cancelling now to see if it helps. It is supposed to only matter if your holding the phone to your ear but I am crossing my fingers it works well enough so people can hear me. In the end I'll use my Garmin and pair up with it for BT and it'll work better than what is in the car or at least should. It'll be interesting to see if the results are the same on the Garmin Nuvi. Anyways, I'm rambling but just wanted to let you guys know that with a new mic and up-to-date bluetooth software I'm still having the issue. Oh, they did give me a Q50 as a loaner. I had the AC vents pointed up and he could only hear wind blowing like the windows were down and I was doing 80 via BT. I turned off the AC and it was working fine so I just pointed the vents down and was able to talk to him but had to cut the AC down even still so it wasn't blowing as bad. As far as the Q50 goes, it was OK. NOTHING like the M in my opinion but I do like the new computer even though its super slow to start. Nice information and options on the Q50 for settings on the computer. Hope the M gets those and more. Oh yeah, you can say temperature 60 and it'll work on the Q50. Wish they would give us those voice commands back on the M.

Hey bud, what do you mean the locking feature? The auto locks? I wish the doors would unlock via the handle. I guess it's nice for safety but don't pull the handle while moving seems a no brainer LOL.

Well, I see a lot of fellas have already chimed in man, that's a good thang. I have no problem with the music box or blue tooth, had a issue with connecting my phone but got that resolved and love the safety feature of doors locking when car is moving

Hi,

I just bought a 2012 M37s with the sports, sport touring and premium package. The first issue I have come across is that the USB drive doesn't recognize my flash drive. Does the flash drive have to be formatted for the car to play music from it? I read in another forum that the "dealer says the usb port only reads iPods" Is this true? I am a dj and I need my music.

Plus doesn't anybody else feels like the bose system isn't all that?

I solved the USB issue I was having.

My car wasn't detecting the USB drive but I resolved it by re-formatting the drive to a MS-DOS (fat) format on a MAC or FAT 32 on a PC and it worked no problems. Hope this helps someone else.

stm37s,

If you have a MAC

1. Plug in the Flash Drive
2. Go to disk utility
3. locate the drive on the left hand side of the disk utility screen
4. Once the drive is located then in the top center section of the window you will see the options to erase partition .... ( I chose erase because it was a brand new flash drive and I wanted the entire thing to be formatted)
5. If you choose erase in the center of the window you will see a drop down menu labelled format. Click that and select MS-DOS (FAT) then you can name the drive what ever you want.
6. Then click erase and it will re-format the drive.

Then load it up with tunes and plug it in the USB port.

I am not exactly sure of how to do this on a PC and more but I'm pretty sure if you google how to format a drive to FAT 32 you should find videos on it.

Thanks for the response bruh

Thanks
The very best thing to do is to get an extended warranty. You will never lose money on the cost of the warranty on these cars. Any major electronic item will pretty much net your money back. Mind you, these are very reliable, well built, high quality machines, but fate doesn't just hit cheap cars.
