New 2011 EX35 owner here!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi guys,

Been "undercover" here for a long while since my '00 I30 days, then the '04 G35X happy hours, now finally the EX35 era!

The car is white/wheat with Premium, Deluxe Touring, IKP, Splash Guards, Cargo Protector, First Aid and Tonneau Cover. We'd love to have a white on black EX but it's difficult to find. Before deciding on the EX we test drove the Mini Countryman S, Acura RDX, Lexus RX350, MB GLK350 and Audi Q5. Considering performance, price, features and reliability, EX is the obvious winner!

We purchased the car from a Chicago dealer which is 3-hr away (really easy to work with btw). We financed through PenFed and got their 2.49% APR for 60 months. It's really a great rate, comparable to Infiniti's promotional 1.9%. Plus we got to have the $2000 dealer rebates, which is not available with IFS special APR. The final price is $5000 off MSRP and we are lucky that our EX carries the MSRP before Infiniti raised the price earlier this year!

Now let pics talk ;) More pics can be found in my Flickr: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjuRhdNN

Btw I do notice there's no DRL for EX35? I thought that should be standard on all cars nowadays...

Beautiful EX screamace! I never even considered DRL as an issue for me so it was not even on my radar. I was still techno-shocked by all of the other features of our fully equipped EX. Aren't those wheels a sight to behold? I did end up getting a clear bra and all weather mats and even subscribed to the SirusXM for the $77 for a year deal after my trial period was about to end as I loved it so much.

Thanks Tasman! DRL isn't a big issue for me, just feel a little odd. I guess Japanese manufacturers aren't as keen to the LED DRL game as German guys. I do love the 19" wheels a lot. IMO Infiniti designs the best looking OEM wheels.

You get DRL if you are in Canada, so I guess it's based on the law.
Congrats for the beautiful car!

While washing the car (our first sunny warm day in months), I noticed that Infiniti actually used Enkei wheels for the 19 inch wheels. I also found the Bridgestone tires interesting as they have a raised rib on the sidewall close to the wheel to help, in some minor way, to prevent wheel rash. I have not seen that in a tire before.

As far as I can remember, Bridgestone tires have that side ridge protection for wheels since 2000. I remember getting 4 tires on my Integra R.

Thanks for reminding me AWGD8. Now that you mentioned it, I think my '03 G35 with Bridgestones may have had the same thing, None of of my replacements since then have had that same feature. I got a small case of wheel rash after the repalcments. =(

I have a 2010 EX35 and I realized the DRL omission after I bought the vehicle (purchased used with 20K miles). I live in Boston and a large portion of my commute involves going in and out of the tunnels. With HIDs I can't leave the lights on auto, because they would keep turning on and off and reduce the life of the bulbs.

I have been talking to a dealer in Montreal, CA who would add relays to get DRL functionality for about 200 bucks. Its only a 6 hour drive for me, so I might get that modification done.

It appears that Infiniti is using Enkei Rims for most of it's models, lately.

I had trouble finding a decent 18" Winter tire... I can't imagine how hard it would be for 19" Rims.
