Just got my new 2010 Coupe 2.5S. Really like the car. Far cry from my 07' PT Cruiser. I have a question about the CVT trannt. When using it in Sport Manual Mode is it necessary to let up on the accelerator when shifting like you would with a clutch manual transmission. thanks. tried to upload a pic of the car but couldn't figure out how

When I use manual mode, I tend to do it both ways, letting off the throttle and staying on.

Since there are no actual "gears" I don't think it matters, it's not like you are gonna grind the gears. When it comes down to it, I let off during acceleration because it makes an awesome backfire/pop sound due to my exhaust and y-pipe lol and when i'm downshifting to go around a car or get up to speed real quick I don't let off the throttle. So it really comes down your personal preference.

anyone with more technical know how feel free to chime in, because i'm not an expert on the cvt lol

The last straw was when a couple of guys I work with told me the PT reminded them of the car at the circus that all of the clowns jump out of. All kidding aside the PT was practical in terms of hauling lots of stuff but slow as hell and not as good with a gallon of gas as the coupe seems to be.

It may be a loser cruiser, but that 2.4L witht he SRT 4 turbo on it would make it pretty quick for cheap. But that said... turbo can't fix the design. lol.

Yeah dude, I have the Y-Pipe and Nismo exhaust also, and I love letting off the gas at high RPM's, haha. I think the pop/crackle sound is awesome. I don't do it ricey or anything, but I think it's a pretty cool sound when it happens. I also like downshifting when getting off the highway. You get that same sound and it's pretty mean

Car looks great in red. Probably a little to young for me(54) What color interior did you get? Mine is black. Will you get those backfires and pops with the stock exhaust? I don't plan on doing many mods to the car although, I would like to paint the brake calipers.

Nice car Dean, sure you will enjoy it.

Son is getting recruited by SB to play LAX. We were there over the holidays when it was cold as all get out!

Enjoy your new car. Go Seawolves!

welcome to the fam. I've never let off the gas when switching to manual or +/- change. I guess you can do both. It is good to hear from some one my own age. I have a BD in less than 2 months so I'm getting new wheels/rubber. I know you'll enjoy the coupe!
