I have no intention of "drifting" or racing the car. That was 25 years ago for me, LOL I Just want a fun daily driver and car to take on trips thought the hills of the southeast.mcheddadi wrote:g37, unless
you need more space in the back (3 seats vs 2, and a little more roomy in the AC) or you've got no intention of drifting or tracking the car.
Altima has a more compliant suspension and is more stable in aggressive driving (read under steers more). Also for the winter the altima is a better choice with its fwd than the g.
mostly depends on what you want to do with you car and which you think is the prettiest
The Altima is a great car no doubt, and I applaud the humbleness you convey in straying away from the "status" the Infiniti might create. But at the same time @ 50yrs old nobody would look at you behind the wheel of the G and think your spoiled. The opposite in my opinion... that you worked hard for your money and made smart choices with it. If you were 20-35 then people would think status, @50 I personally would think you are rewarding yourself while staying reasonable about the amount your spending ( not getting a vette or M3 etc). To me at least, Lexus, BMW, & Mercedes all carry more "status" than Infiniti does.kingfrog wrote:

We already have the four door SUV so a two door "non midlife crisis look" is what I want. The Altima fits the bill. Genesis does not, Covette not, BMW has fuel pump issues, The G37 is a nice car and next to the Lexus depreciates the least in the premium car category......
The ride was more mushy then even the 08 the 3.5SE Altima which handled far better (as if on rails, no body dip at all) I was more impressed with the Altima to tell you the truth from a "driving" standpoint. From a creature comfor standpoint the G37 was the winner......I also hate "status revealinig monikers" especially when so many are suffering. With the Altima no none would know its even paid off...LOL.
The dealer being in Charleston is another issue as I don;t want to have to give up a day to drive there and another to pick up the car should it need warranty work
Nissan tells me they can not do warranty work on an Infiniti even though they have three of them (one with 4K miles) on their used car lot......
Thanks for your opinions.....
Thank you for that insightful response. I agree MB and BMW and maybe even Lexus reek of pretension although all great cars (or "automobiles" LOL)....i The Infiniti not as much. But coming from an ecotech HHR (albeit loaded LOL) even the 2.5s Altima seemed like a rocket ship. Either way whatever I buy will remain stock,Racingline wrote:
