Hi everyone! As of today, I am the new owner of a '98 blue 200sx SE-R shown here (Only photo taken from the ad I saw it from, I'll get more pics of it later): About 105k on it, but very well maintained (mostly highway miles too). I didn't get the greatest steal on it, about $4900, but meh. I've been around the forums for about a year, joined about half a year ago, originally with interest in everyone's favorite 240sx. But nowadays, its just too damn hard to find a good, well priced 240 in the area, so the SE-R was an obvious second choice. So far, NICO has been invaluable in my learning of cars, and I'm sure it will be more so in the future. But, yeah, just giving everyone a heads up that the b-14 crowd has one more to add to its ranks.

Red_det is jus jealous cuz he knows the DE is better than the DET :)

Healing...sweet ride, my last car was a blue 98 SE-R just like yours. I wish I never sold it. I liked it much better than my 02....it was a ton more reliable.

Nice car! I love the 200sx SE-R myself. It was my friends 200sx SE-R that made me buy the Spec V that I had before my 350z.

First off Congratulations!! You'll be happy with the SE-R. I am actually in the same boat as you were. I was looking for an S13/S14 for around $6k, but around here in So.Cal..everything is overpriced. So I started looking for a B13/B14 w/o 5th gear popout. Hard to find that too. I did inquire about a 98 SER, but to my surprised does not have LSD and ABS. Are all 98+ SE-R's like that? Also found a 99 Sentra SE-L that I may look at. Anyways the congrats again..now my search is on....

ABS is optional on 98 and 99's. I used to have a 98 with ABS.

LSD is not available in 98 *or* 99. So the SE-L you are looking at also will not have LSD unless the previous owner put an aftermarket one in.

Welcome to the SR20DE family!

Nowadays I sometimes look back to a little over a year ago and think that I ought to have looked more closely at the 200SX SE-R.

Oh well, I like my VLSD .

Ron- I believe LSDs were only stock on 00-01 SE's with PP (like mine) and new SE-Rs have a helical LSD. ABS was an option on my SE (one I don't have, so brake-locking goodness galore!) and I believe is still an option on Sentras to this day, so no matter what, if you want ABS you're going to have to ask/look for it.

Check up on the 00-01 SE's too, you might find a steal.
