At speeds above 100mph there is a whistle coming from the right mirror. It is really annoying. I tired folding the mirror and the same sound happend at speeds over 110mph instead of 100mph. Did anyone experince this problem before? Any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

I dont know if the dealer could fix it because they will have to do speeds over 100mph to find this problem. So im trying to find what is causing the problem so I can tell the dealer to change it.

Awsome!!!

I love how just slowing down is not an option.

So the noise wasn't there at some point and then developed? I remember some menion of a hood shake on the F50 at very high speeds - but I'm not sure in this case.

I agree that it will be hard to convince the dealership to address a problem that can only occur when you're committing a felony (in most states)

I never really considered living in VA before now, but wow... if you can book that much triple digit time... wow!

Well I had a whistle in my sun roof at about 90mph when i bought my Q, I just told them it did it at "speed" and that is what you should just leave it at next time you check it in for an oil change or something and see if they come up with something.

Tell them you were doing 50mph into a 50mph headwind.

At what speed does the whistle quit or does it get louder as you speed up.

I think I found the answer:

The Q45 features the latest in Infiniti safety technology for 2006, with the available Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system. New for the 2006 is a built in deer whistle in the right side view mirror for speeds above 100 MPH, this makes for safer highway driving.

The noise was there the 1st day i drove the car out of the dealership which was a week ago. The hood shook when i was getting in and out of slip streams of cars infront of me.

No way I can speed comfotably in VA like this. Im overseas now and when i travel between cities i cruise around 100-120mph comfortably. So when the whistle starts it gets really annoying and I have to slow down to eliminate it.

I didnt like how the Q45 felt over 125mph so I think that is the most speed this car will see. Im comparing to BMW, MB and Audi cars ofcourse.
