Hey All,

Just picked up a 2006 M45s a week ago today. Wanted to share my navi hack running Google chromecast in car. So far I've done tint navi hack LED upgrade, chromecast install. Waiting for an open appt to have uprev, stillen exhaust, cai with my local shop.

Still on the fence with wheels but going to see about custom forced induction options. I've always loved the body and very happy with the car thus far as my daily/beater.

Definitely post a HowTo. You can use the links in my signature to few our other HowTo's and kind of use the same structure...

Very cool. I would really like to know how you made Chromecast work in your M!

Good job.

Tie it direct to the RCA jacks in the car, or direct to the monitor with a switch.

Pretty cool! Can you use it for Google maps? Google music? The video TDot posted sounded like a PITA with an iPhone; I am assuming it is much less hassle with an Android? I am rooted with a hotspot hack, so I am good to go with internet. ;)

This is awesome. I was just going to get something for stereo Bluetooth but this. This is the way to go.

So I have a question. If I use my phone as the mobile hotspot would I also be able to stream directly to it or will they need to connect through an independent access point?

Hey all,

I apologize for the delay in responding.

So I've spent the last week playing with the chromecast and unfortunately not the experience I wanted. It will stream movies off mobile networks, but didn't deliver in other areas. If anyone is still interested in chromecast I'll list what's needed.

What I've been playing with seems to be a better workaround.

This is a 90% keeper and I should have installed fully this evening.

Having a local network is definitely the way to go. Good work.

Any update on this? Excited to see how you got it to work. I need an excuse to buy another Chromecast.

Would love to see a walk through of this installation.
