I just went to Chicago today to pick up my new 2006 M35x and I love the car! I haven't experienced any trammeling yet which is good. The tires are not the OEM so that's good as well.
It does drift to the left a bit and the car has 50,000 miles on it. So maybe it's time for an alignment?
Also -- The steering wheel and shift knob covers are worn. Some of the leather/pleather has rubbed off making it looked aged. Can I replace both these items myself or would I need a dealer to do this? Where, besides the dealer, can I even buy the parts?
I love the relocation of the A/V jacks in the rear of teh center console hack. I'll definitely be doing that!
Also -- I'm coming up on my 60K. Should I just buy teh 60K kit and do it myself? I'm mechanically inclined and not afraid of popping the hood (Well now that this is my baby I am a little scared...).
Keep the good info flowing!! I'll post some pics of my white on black ride tomorrow!
Thanks!

When in doubt, and tires are too new to show uneven wear, it is always good to perform an alignment on a new to you car. Cheaper than new tires.
Worn out leather on steering wheel and knob is a little suspicious, and rather ubnormal at only 50k miles. Especially the shifter knob. Maybe the previous owner had super sweaty hands? Regardless, Infiniti should replace them under warranty for free.
Do you have any service records? If not get them from any dealer by providing the full VIN #.With regards to the 60k service, there are some things that are better to be done by the dealer - transmission fluid power flush ensures that the entire fluid in replaced, not just what drains out. In addition, if you feel the need, you might want to have a pressurized fuel system flush. Brake fluid should be easy to do if you have a bleeder. Coolant is supposedly a little more tricky, and my dealer wants $80 for it (fluid included). Check out the accessory belts. If worn out, replace. Rear diff fluid is very easy to do - make sure to have new gaskets for the plugs. And you only need 2 quarts of the 75W-90 gear oil.
Do a search for a 60k service for more details.
There are more seasoned members here who can answer your questions better. I am still pretty new to my M45.
