new 2006 m35x owner, found toggle switch?

just had my new to me 35x delivered with 63k. I was checking it out an noticed a small toggle switch down by the parking brake? it's mounted in black plastic but doesn't quite look factory, I can see where they screwed it into the dash. I noticed they taped off a small white connector that is tucked back and just hanging there. It's not labeled and just has the universal symbol for power on power off on it.

My question is that something everyone else has? My car has journey and tech package, no mobile dvd. I was thinking maybe someone did the nav hack but disconnected it before trading it in? I turned it on and off a few times and I couldn't see any effect from doing so. I got a flashlight and tried to see what was connected to what but it's pretty tight down there and I'm guessing all have to dig into the bottom dash to see where everything is going.

Loving the car so far, very happy with my decision.

Before I finished reading your post I was thinking nav hack all the way except most of us put the switch somewhere along the center console... Anyhow, you mentioned you flipped the switch and nothing happened. My question is did you test the switch while you where driving?? The nav hack could've been done so all features of the navigation could be used... Test the nav control switches etc. If you flip the switch while parked you won't be able to tell if anything has changed since it's effect is supposed to be for when the car is in motion...

If it's not that... I'm not sure what it could be??
