Hi,Firstly I would like to say Hi to everybody as I am new to this forum. I recently bought a used 04 G35 coupe with 75K miles for $12000. Is that a good price or did I pay over? The front tires are brand new. The rear would last for another six months. According to the seller, the rotors were replaced. The car is clean out and it has no dents.Since it was a lady driver car, it doesnt look as if the car was abused

Is 75K a lot of miles on the car? Also with 75K miles what maintenance should be done on the car?

I am kinda scared as the day I bought the car, the driver side window failed .I paid $400 dollars just to get the motor replaced. Also I have read through the forums about the oil leaks. Is oil leak problem on 04 coupes as well?

THE CAR FAX ON THE CAR WAS CLEAN. NO ACCIDENTS AND SALVAGE HOWEVER ON THE CAR FAX THERE WERE NO MAINTENANCE RECORDS IF IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER EVER IN THE PAST

thanks

Welcome to NICO!

First, congrats on your recent purchase! The G35 is a really great car and Infiniti dealers are much easier to deal with than others.

Next, according to Edmunds, you stole the car!! http://www.edmunds.com/used/20...esult

I don't know the options you have, but with AUTO and a premium package, you should have paid around $15,800 for the car. (that's using the "clean" option)

Don't worry about the driver's side window motor...it's a common problem. The next most common problem is the stereo head deck. The oil problem is more of an issue with the 05-07 6MT coupes and the 05-06 6MT sedans.

So, I think you got a great car at a great price!

Do you have any plans on mods? Post up some pics!!

I too had no maintenence records on my G35, it's a sedan, with a clean title. You got a great deal, now post up some pics, and hope that it was just a freak issue with the window.

Warm Welcome to NICO!

Welcome to Nico!!!

Have a 04 myself and love it.

The valve covers are known to leak. They leak oil into the spark plug chamber. I don't think it's a huge deal, but it is costly since you have to replace the covers to stop the leak.

I think what Joe is referring to is the oil consumption problem which you shouldn't have.

There are factory service manuals in the FAQ section. They are in PDF format and are GREAT!!!!!

How much would it cost to get the valve cover gaskets replaced? Do I have to go the dealer for the replacement? Also do I need to get the replaced right now? I think since car is over 70K it is out of warranty.

Please suggest

Thanks,Abhishek

you just need to keep an eye on your oil level. if it leaks too much then you should think about getting it replaced! If not then just live with it! DJ

There is an awesome sticky with some fantastic pics from a super member! http://forums.g35club.org/zerothread/355022

Yep, it was mine and it was leaking, but I was not experiencing any issues. I was changing my plugs and noticed the oil in the number 6 cyl.
