Hello All, I ended up purchasing an Infiniti 2003 M45. It's a 2003 M45 with 72K miles. When I test drove it the first time everything was really nice, the ride, the way it looks, overall good. When I test drove it tonight I still liked it but noticed some imperfections. I figured since I was getting the car at such a good price, it was still worth it. After the deal was completed and I drove home I noticed another more major problem. around 60-70 mph the steer wheel would shake, the whole front end would vibrate a little. But it was the steering wheel that shimmed. I initially thought it was wrapped rotors but it was during acceleration not when I hit the brakes. Also it would sometimes not shake at all. It was always around 60-70mph and it would slowly go around around 80-90mph. What can it be?? Tires, they are old and I probably want to buy new olds within 3 months? Or is it bad motor mounts? Maybe the Chrome Wheels are bent somewhere? Anyone else have this problem?????

I would suspect the tires first.

Try re-balancing them or replace them if they are old (either less than 3/32" of tread or age). You need strong (at least 95 load index) tires to support the weight of the car, and at least H-rated (or better) to get the strong internal construction that will last the life of the tire without internal damage.

Hope this is all it turns out to be! Now that you are the owner, maybe the dealer can give you the older service records now!

If I do some digging around I can probably find the name of the previous owner b/c the bluetooth has a number for home.

I have a set of G35 Coupe Wheels in my garage, I will try putting those on and see if that fixes the shimmy.

Has anyone had an issue with the driver seat controls not working. I tried to move my seat all the way up but it would stop at a certain point. I had a person in the rear seat behind me and I couldn't move the seat up enough??

Putting on the G35 Wheels did the trick. I noticed that the inner part of the both front tires were bald. I rotated the rear tires forward and the car drives great.

But I'm still having an issue with the Driver Side Seat. It seems like there is a short or something. It works on and off, and when it works only for about a few seconds then it's dead again. right now the seat is a bit to forward and I can't move it. Anyone else have or had a problem with their Seat adjustment??

I had the same issues in a previous car and it turned out to be nickles, dimes, pennies in the tracks. I actually had to remove the entire driver seat and remove the coins with a hammer and an old flat screw driver. Once I sa the coins I noticed that they had been nearly cut in half, plus they had burn marks from the rails rubbing against them. The power seats appeared to short out just as yours did.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to remove the Seat today and see if I can find anything. CakeDaddy, what kind of wheels are those and what sizes wheels and tires?? I'm looking for a set of wheels, I hate the stock chromes wheels, I would rather have the dull metal ones.

245/35 20x8.5 front and 265/30 20x9.5 rear, plus the car has been Eibached about 1.1 inch or so.zerothread/177695

Teck - you may have to test that out on a wet surface with the vdc on and off. good question. I only turn my VDC off when I'm about to blast some clown in a mustang or 300C (non Gt and non Hemi) of course

If the wheels are slipping, then I think it will do so. Not 100% sure of this, but ...
