The transmission in my Australian delivered '93 Q45 (essentially a '94 American) is on its last legs.

Just located a factory transmission delivered new to the local warranty agent 15 years ago. Any heads up on what I can expect from a transmission stored for so long?

Cheers,

Mark

Nothing but good news. It will need a new ATF fill like Mobil 1 ATF with 4 -6 oz of LubeGuarrd RED (NOT black). Add an auxiliary ATF cooler and you should be fine with occasional mechanical ATF exchanges for many miles down the road. A thread worth reading is Q45tech Accounting of transmission maintenance as he includes documented performance parameters. It may be in General Chat, but then any G50 should read all of his posts with the FSM nearby.

Assuming the seals are not dried up from lack of oil flowing through them?

As long as it was stored reasonably well (either sealed in plastic or kept in a fairly dry/cool place), I think it will probably be OK.
