I just picked it up and I would like to go to a mild off road tire like BFG or equal all terrains.Any suggestions? I did a google search and forum search but came up empty. Thanks

Welcome to NICO!

I had the older version of these on my old Hardbody, They were great on road and with light off road. I would really like to see pics if you get these.

Thanks, that is the one I have been leaning towards.Tire rack only lists one size in a 20". I'll have to see if it fits properly.

I don't know for sure but I have seen them with ridiculously large rims and they fit. You've got to show those off.

I've been driving one ton crew cab 4x4 diesel trucks the last 10 years. If I'm gonna drive a SUV it's gotta at least be 4x4 and have some off road tires.

I ran Bridgestone Dessert Duelers on a 2006 QX56 and totally loved them.

I highly recommend Toyo's Open Country A/Ts. Great blend of offroad capability with good road manners. They're very quiet for an a/t, too.

Tire Rack lists the OE size as 275/60-20. Selections appear limited for that size in all-terrain tires. The Bridgestone Revo's are likely the best choice of the ones available.Though, that particular size has a tread depth of only 11/32nds".

Another option might be to go to a slightly wider tire. I'm not sure what the wheel width for the QX is, but perhaps a 285/55/20 might be an option if you're looking for a the BFG A/T KO. I have that tire on my Titan. Rides and feels great. A little noisy, but not bad. They are a heavy tire though, so expect a hit in gas mileage with them (mine dropped by about 1 mpg vs the OE Wrangler SR-As).

The BFG A/T KO's have a good reputation for handling a lot of miles and tend to have high weight limits (especially in sizes that allow the tire to be pumped up to 80 psi).

However, make sure that you consider what you plan to use the vehicle for. The KO's tend to scrub a fair amount at the cornering limits on my Titan. Probably due to the very square shoulders. Then again, this wasn't a tire designed to be tracked either. I towed a trailer full of dirtbikes shortly after getting the tires and it handled the tow and the dirt just fine. My Titan is also only 2WD with an open diff.
