Hey guys i just got my first Maxima 06 SL and i have a few question.

1. The car came with no radio I'll install one in the next couple of days. I have notice that the buttons that control the screen are not working(screen works i can see the outside temp and whenever i turn on the ac.However i cant see time or access menu ). Does this buttons need a radio to work or i need to get that fix?

2. Car came with no overhead console, I was looking at one on eBay. I was wondering if the installation is only to connect the cable to the console or does it need to be program first in order to work?

3. I was adjusting the wheel and I notice it doesn't go in and out only up and down, is that normal or is it supposed to move in and out as well?

Thanks in advance for your help, and ill probably come up with more questions as I run the car more.

Welcome to the forums, Guazo!

It's been a long time since I had my 07 Maxima, but if I recall correctly:

1) The navigation screen (mine had nav, not sure about yours) and the entire center console, climate control, Bose stereo, hands free phone, etc., were all tied together. One big mess of wires back there. I am actually surprised your climate control works at all without the radio there. However, this may be specific to the Nav model.

2) Not sure what you mean by "overhead console." I don't believe that particular radio had any lock-out anti-theft feature, so it shouldn't need to be programmed.

3) My 07 SL steering wheel had power up/down, in/out.

@vonscorpio
Thank you for the answers. I'm not sure if the car has nav as i can't access anything on the screen. Currently waiting on plates and stickers to actually drive the car.
Overhead is where you place glasses and the control for the sunroof.
Another question is I bought a keyless fob from amazon and followed instructions to active it but is not working i tried everything and I cant get the hazard lights to blink when I insert the key more than 6 times. The security light flashes red in interval of 3 seconds but no luck getting the keyless fob to work.

My 07 had "keyless" start, which has an entirely different programming process. But my experience with Nissan's key programming leads me to advise you be sure to insert the key all the way in, deliberately like you mean it. And keep going until the hazards do flash. Sometimes 6. Sometimes 10 times.
As for the sunroof controls, they are plug and play. No programming is needed, just be sure the switch positions match the actual glass when you power it up.
