I drove from LA to San Francisco a few weeks ago. Before the trip, I checked my tires at a Chevron station and I was really surprised when the gauge read 21 psi. Initially, I thought I had a nail in my tire, so I felt around trying to find it. However, the other 3 tires read around the same pressure, so I thought maybe this was the cause of letting my car sit for weeks in the garage. I was in a hurry to beat pre 4th of july traffic, so I just filled up all 4 tires back to 32 and got going.

A few days ago my friend and I were installing Stance gr+ pro coilovers and I decided to check the tire pressure before the test drive. I used my friends portable tire compressor, which showed that all 4 of my tires were around 42-45 psi!!! :wtf2:

I should have known that gas station gauge was messed up. All that visible duct tape should have screamed out at me. :slap:

how do you know it's the gas station's gauge that was effed and not your friend's? being a homie does not make one infallible. also, tire pressure changes constantly, depending on conditions. also also, you don't check for nails by "feeling around". happy motoring.

I like how the type of coilover was necessary to the story.

I am disappoint that you didn't recognize me earlier.

Also, I liked my Stances a lot. Power by Max though, they will likely be going on this hatch. mmm.

i was actually playing along. trying to take a stab at how most of 240gen touts stance and pbm to be god's gift to the world, when in fact, 90% of them don't even need coilovers, and in the grand scheme of things, they're still entry level shiat compared to the stuff that they can't afford.

(not knocking the products, i'm sure they do fine, just poking fun at the broke artards who think they're hot s*** for having x brand of unnecessary stuff on their car. carry on)

Just about all coilovers on the market have god awful dampening.
KW coilovers are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head that has epic dampening.
The FortuneAuto coilovers I have have dampening that actually works and the clicks actually do something but the dampening isn't 100% perfect, but it rides good.

s*** riding cars are teh ghey.

A portable air compressor is one of the worst things to gauge tire pressures on. Chances are, the gas station was much more accurate than that thing.

Stance coilovers suck Brother. Step your game up on Koni/Ground Controls. =P

Still doesn't make sense for 3 months since the last check. Never seen it before unless has someone has beef with me and decided to do something to my tires. "Feeling around?" Guess I should have added flashlight and eyes too. whatever

LOL I knew someone was gonna comment on it. You know I was actually going to delete the coilover info as I was typing the post, but I was thinking what hell who cares.

General forum, so I can put whatever I want into the story. Crap I've read tons of in posts with irrelevant info.

Hmmm Maybe I'll dig up one of those old tire pressure pens. About the Stances, I'm have a love hate relationship with them now. I got them at a discount, soo you get what you paid for... Luckily stance customer service has been pretty helpful.

The only way to check pressure for real is to have a clock-gauge psi checker from a real parts store.
