I do not consider it sports car due to the FWD it posses and how can you put a fwd drive car in a sports car class with our 240s, mr2s, camaros, s2ks and the other great beasts in that catagory. Sports = RWD

So according to you an Integra Type R isn't a sports car because it's FWD? I'm guessing the Mazda Protege doesn't qualify either?

If I were to tune this neon: bigger intercooler, bigger turbo, bigger injectors and bigger boost. Basically super-size everything.

It's the same car, different body. We had this discussion about 2 weeks ago in another thread in the 240sx general section.

How much bigger i/c do you think you could fit? It looks pretty big as it is. I wonder how much boost it would take on pump gas? It already has 14psi stock.

BTW, actual Type Rs are pretty wicked IMO.

Making the switch to bigger goodies on the neon/pt would most likely be the beginning to a short future for that motor as it is maxed out.(215hp on a stock 4 banger is very good!);)

Chrysler did beatter in 1993 with the 224 hp 2.2 turbo5 lotus did the headwork , they last pretty good , still have the common headgasket problems and sometimes blow the cyl head , and at 3,500 a pop them heads aint cheap ..

The VNT turbo4 my freind is buying this weekend makes 174 hp and 210lb ft of torque ,and being one of 25 ever made its gonna be fun to watch him fix it up ....

If you ask me the chrysler 2.2 turbo has more potential , but im told the new 2.4 turbo is engineered by the same folks that did the 2.2 program int he 80s , im sure they took what they learned from that and applied it to this to avoid headgasket issues ....

Sorry ,im a K car fanatic

Finally found some pictures of upgrades to the SRT-4.Obviously the Mopar stuff is going to be more expensive but at least you know the engine can handle the power.
