Neo RB25 NonTurbodoes anyone have any information concerning this engine?lik where i could find a turbo for it any performance parts that work with it...what car did it come from and what is the HP and torque of itIS it a more difficult swap than a regular Rb25det as my uncle who will be the mine person to install it has already done a couple rb25det swaps for my cousins.

and what are the major difference between the Neo RB25 and the Rb25det besides the NonTurbo part.

thanks

Just taking a stab but I'm guessing the neo is from the R34. Im also guessing that it is VVT, which might require more wiring

All shiny on the inside;) They come from R34 GTS Skylines and new Laurels. They have variable timing but so do R33 RB25DETs. The wiring is likely arranged different but probably the same group of wires. It's an RB, any 20 or 25 gear should bolt right on.

thanx

does anyone know someone or womewhere that could explain the wiring of the VVT to me?and is it reasonable to get a Manual Neo RB25de with ECU, harness, with shipping and insurance for $2600 US.i get a start up warranty. and from what i am able to tell it is in very good condition with a decent number of miles for a swap.

If you want an RB25DET don't get an RB25DE no matter what the price, You won't have what you want. Just my $.02

Adding a turbo to a high compression NA motor is not really the way to go....Like themadscientist said, just get the RB25DET it will save you alot in the long run by the time you buy manifold, turbo, intercooler, piping, metal head gasket, ECU reprogrammed, boost controller, to mention just a few things....you will spend more than just coughing up the cash in the first place for the RB25DET.

thnx for the inputnut what i have really been looking into right now was the rb20det which has like 200 something HP and was just asking if getting the neo rb25de over the rb20det would be a good idea i know that i may have made it seem like i was actually going for the rb25det verse the neo. but in fact its RB20DET Vs. Neo RB25DE so if that changes your opinion tell me what you think.how would that change to price to upgrade? would it still be cheaper to jus get the turbo engine?

I'd still go with the RB20DET.

There's not alot of information out there regarding NEO engines and it's electronic systems stuff.

What I did is insted of waisting time and money doing the wiring harness to then install some computer (hks, apex, etc.) to modify it, I installed a Microtech Computer. Costs around 1,200 and it can installed and have your engine running in 2 days max. Call Central Florida Turbo (321-235-9959) Tell them fito sent you. They did the complete config on my car for 500hp+
