swapped in my neo about a week ago into my s13. had trouble starting it, foudn out i was getting power to the coilpacks for some unkown reason. jumped a wire from the fuel injector harness to the coipack harness, the car then started. Now I have to jump the car eveyrtime to get it started, and when I pull the jumpe cables the car will die in about 15 seconds afterward andthne the ecu starts clicking. I disconect the battery to stop the clicking and connect it again, then i try to start it without cables, nothing at all. I jump the car again, took the cables off, this time I pulled the negative ground off the battery, the car died right away. im assuming the alternator is screwed.

the multimeter showed 12v on the battery, i know i cant really check to see if the alt is good or not but i checked the plug and it had 12v as well.

I notivec i had a small coolant leak leaking on the starter and the alternator while the car was running. could this have casued internal damage to the ALT? by adding ground straps from the alt could that fix the problem?

i checked the grounds on the alt, they looked good.

btw I have a brand new battery. the terminals are nice.

When the car IS running, the idle rises slowly, then falls back to normal, rises slowy, falls back to normail, etc etc u get the idea.

No vacum leaks at all ,and I have a factory NEO maf as well.

Battery should be receiving in the neighborhod of 14 volts.

Also check if your ECU is turning off properly and not causing a electrical drain.
